Ha ha I was thinking of one time I saw Bob Dylan in New Haven prior to a show. There I was like twenty feet from my favorite artists and all I could think to say was “hey Mr Dylan I’ll be at the show tonight” he barely glanced at me and said “so will I”
That was it, my meeting with Dylan

Currently lots of Miss Grit. New-ish, pretty raw electro which is very much in my wheelhouse.

This is from the New York sessions of Blood on the Tracks
New York Sessions bootleg album has always my one of my favorites:

Blood on the tracks is probably his finest although you say that and listen to the lyrics he’s writing these days you wonder, but the emotions of that divorce when he wrote the entire blood on the tracks album just seep through to make a masterpiece.

It was interesting when there was a move to make his song “things have changed” the theme seem for the covid era. It wasn’t old fans who brought it up, it was younger converts and us old fans.

How to get wife to beg you to use your headphones. (Blaming the dog for being upset) Been on a Zappa jag lately.
Great album....the best cover of Little Richard's "Directly From My Heart to You", IMHO.

Scorsese captures the magic, and the addition of Mavis and Pops makes this fantastic song ultra special:

I closed out a file today of a girl who passed away earlier this month. I put it off for two reasons, it bums me out and I was really hoping someone reach out to me about her belongings (two bags of clothes) and just ask me about her. No one did, I have no emergency contact and I knew when I put that file away that would be it. We have a lot of frequent flyers so we have always used her original file as a base and keep building on it. But no longer, I sealed it, in seven years it will be destroyed. I think I’ll make a donation in her name. Sounds more meaningful than a watch.

Cancer finally took her away, she had a hard life on the streets but she had a good heart. I wish I could do something more. This one kind of sticking with me but we gotta move on. She played this one time on our guitar that is always missing a string but she played it well and I could tell it meant it lot to her.

Sorry to be a bummer just kinda carrying it around at the minute I’ll be back at it tomorrow. Gods speed Tiff it was great getting to meet you.

You’re a good man, James. RIP Tiff.
