Billy Strings covers Grateful Dead's Wharf Rat
Billy Strings - "Wharf Rat" from The Capitol Theatre - YouTube
Perfect cover. I gave someone a ride to their first apartment in 29 years and she asked me if we could blare it. Of course I obliged. She spent a few years stumbling around and was getting back on her feet so it was well timed. Also one of my favorite dead songs.

I just heard Kreutzman is not coming back for the next tour. It was a google news clip no detail but I hope he is ok.

I bought it yesterday , it was released in 1980 & I'm pretty sure at least 4 of the records have never been out of their sleeves or been played . Well worth a listen & still very much a bargain set of records .

I’ve been following the set lists of Bob Dylan current tour of Japan (at 81 years old) I saw the rough and rowdy ways US tour but he is doing some wild covers in Japan. Brokedown palace by the dead, a 2016 Weir song and other intriguing unusual covers. He is also working on another album. This is not high quality obviously and audience member took it but a nice sounding not fade away. I wish he had done some of this when I saw him. Oops sorry grabbed the wrong one see that ones 2016 the other was 2023 still sounded good

Supposedly the summer tour is the last for Dead & Co. It actually did turn out to be a long strange, and thoroughly enjoyable, trip! Fifty years road tripping with dear friends to listen to the band beyond description and meet new friends.

Billy Strings really nailed Wharf Rat. He is a talent worth seeing anytime. Cheers!
