The Live lp was a fantastic recording, and the lagniappe is CleanHead, he is on fire. Gut bucket Blues.

Both are in the mail from trustworthy ebay sellers.

The story behind a great voice and great recording, that was lost far too soon...

And just some of her performance...

Reminds me of another female vocalist similarly taken from us way too soon.

Stan Kenton doing Peanut Vendor has always been one of my favorites, and I had never heard it done by Anita. I really love digging through this thread.
Growing up in the 70s, my Dad enjoyed listening to rock, as well as loud jazz, so I was introduced to Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, and Maynard Ferguson. My brother and I played the heck out of the Hey Jude 45, but I remember being blown away by the stratospheric trumpet work on Kenton's version of Hey Jude. Definitely gives your speakers a workout!

I find that I rarely listen to music at home, but when I get to my office, my stereo is the first thing I turn on after the lights. I have a MAC4100 hooked up to my Mac and stream music through TIDAL. The quality is excellent. I was listening to Karl Richter and Cecil Taylor today. I'm mostly jazz and classical, and honestly haven't listened to my avatar forever, but I will never forget that album cover... 😀
