I'm a big of the early 70s Rolling Stones with Mick Taylor, so I had to pick up the Goats Head Soup boxed set. You can already hear most of the rarities disc online. The main reason I sprung for the deluxe 3 CD set, was for the included Bluray of the album in Dolby Atmos Surround. And one of the CDs was the full Brussels Affair 1973 concert that was released a few years ago, and has some real standout live versions of their classics. They seem to have tapped into an unknown source of energy...

Have you heard this unreleased number?

Btw, I've seen the Stones forty times. GHS is my personal favorite album.

I'm listening to book 2 of the "Master and Commander" Series by Patrick O'Brien.
Covid-19 gave me the time to read, so I am currently reading book 13 of the 20 book series, and listening to Book 2. It's actually very rewarding, reading then at a later stage being reminded. Trick is not to catch up!

The movie "Master and Commander" was (loosely) based around one of the books, called "Far Side of the World."
Interesting side story. In the movie, the "Surprise" is chasing a French ship called the "Acheron", whereas in the book, the ship was American, though they believed they would not have gained funding for the movie if the nemesis was American, hence they changed it to French. As Capt. Jack would say, "what wonderful modern times we live in!"

Thanks Art! You've got me beat on concerts by a longshot. Yes, thanks to the internet, I've been able to tap into all sorts of rarities from the Stones online like that one. I especially like hearing different versions of a song, different lyrics and mixes that eventually lead to the album version. Slave from Tattoo You is a great example of one like that.

I highly recommend the reissue box sets of Exile, Sticky Fingers, and Get Your YaYas Out as well.

Here's the alternate version of Can't You Hear Me Knockin' that was included in Sticky Fingers:

Got to see Mick Taylor perform three guest appearances with the Stones.
