I realize that I may be the only one on the planet listening at the moment to this version of Mozart's arrangement of Handel's Messiah, but there it is.
All of yesterday, to live recordings I made Sunday night of these guys, The Chicago Cellar Boys, playing authentic 1920s-style jazz, at Honky Tonk BBQ in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.
No apart from one arm mount it's all off the shelf.
Rebuilding these vintage cartridges is expensive and some of my vinyl is fifty years old so I use one for my less than pristine albums as it majors on the mid-band. I love the speed and attack of my Decca London cartridge (especially for jazz) but it doesn't use a cantilever so can't work with warped discs and the other has a highly detailed, analytic presentation that only suits great pressings.
