Another experimental aged gin. The sweetness of the cognac cask doesn’t work as well as the oak cask IMO - the oakiness lends an almost botanical dimension which goes well with the rest, but the cognac is a bit at odds I think. Still, quite interesting!

Feeling a bit Duvel - ish today - and at 8.5% it can leave me feeling a bit out of touch (in a nice lazy Sunday way) - so I thought my Titanium T Touch beater should get in shot for once. Been a great / reliable watch - and very easy to use considering all the functions - benefit of a touch screen. My first Accutron is due any day now so along with my 1511 Mega Quartz and good old solar G-shock, I am slowly getting a bit more electronic in my old age....back to beer, I hope my stomach is as strong as the bottle to deal with any ongoing refermentation :0)

Like bourbon cask ales, I’ve tasted and I’m just not on board. I like my Gin clear and botanical. All for experimentation though.

Nice beer / nice river. I am jealous in a good way and missing the chance to travel - had some good parties on the Rhine 3/4 years back - when Corona was not a bad thing :0( Hopefully we are heading back to better times soon.

I agree about cask ales (though the Brooklyn Brewery did a couple some years ago that were fantastic) but Copperworks has a new oak cask gin that I also have (it's somewhere in this thread) and it works really well. Their standard gin is excellent too, very nicely botanical. I recommend giving it a try if you're in a state that allows alcohol shipments in.

I’ll look for it. We are in a golden age of distilling for sure. My liver cannot unfortunately support all the craft distillers and the majors. We ALL need to pitch in.😜

It's currently only distributed in the Seattle area - they're working on expanding to other markets, but online is the only place to find it outside of that part of WA state.

Enjoying a very tasty pale ale at Dallas International...center column, second beer down...ah, Texas!
The name doesn’t shock me, it’s just a Tarantino reference. Doing a 13oz pour of an imperial IPA is shocking even if it’s a little low abv for a Imperial. Still that’s a lot of booze and strong flavors.

Anticipation! My current favourite, but not easy to get in the UK. Slitting in the evening sun and the bottle is now empty!

Found this lurking at the back of the wine cellar.. probably past it’s best but I opened it anyway... it’s actually very nice chilled! Bought it at the Chateau De Pommard in Burgundy in 2008 with my friend Jeff, back when we were carefree young(er) men on an outrageously drunk wine tour. Now he’s Godfather to my boys, and just become a British citizen ( he’s originally from Pennsylvania).... we are having a virtual drink and wondering - where do the years (and hair) go?

Whoops - too much on a Wednesday. I am supposed to be working (but I did start early am). I think the cat is judging me / grass is getting long. Being lockdown honest also time to give my faithful solar G-shock an outing. Ps - that is started early working..not drinking (honest :0).. hic)

I’ve been drinking Guinness from a very tender age, but this beautiful stout is simply outstanding! Dare I say better?
A little Canadian content! I’ll have to try that.
