I've been VERY impressing with the UKs seamless transition to 7 day drinking without any fuss at all.

UK is not alone - alcohol sales in Canada were up 40% last month. I suspect in large part to people "stocking up"...

Based on some interactions I've had there, I would say they always have been! 😉

Our wine storage unit has been closed up the past three weeks, but this morning I managed to get a 'private' appointment so I could go in and get a few bottles out of the storage locker--lol. I'm all set--for the coming week anyhow (no, I won't be leaving them on the window sill--it was just for the pic when I pulled them out of my bag).

I opened an old bottle of Brooklyn Brewing Black Ops tonight.

Why cellar all these bottles of beer if I wasn’t going to actually drink them?

How is it aged? I wasn't too impressed by it back when it was new, so I'm curious.

The Brooklyn Quarterly Experiments were often absolutely delicious though, unfortunately they aren't distributed in CA 🙁

I just took my first sip of this. 16.5% of heavy hitting Amarone. Not bad for a Friday evening

No idea how long it's been lost in there , but I'm quite proud to say, I'm currently drinking freshly discovered boot wine.

Just discovered this, grey goose for special occasions and absolute for general consumption.
Popped into Sainsbury’s yesterday and bought this. Nice and peppery and for £16 outstanding

Been a good day which feels bad to say in the current circumstances. Great weather in the UK.... We are finishing a Dassault St Emilion 2015.. which is going down nicely after a bottle of fizz in the sunshine...

Also today, is World Health Day! and btw, studies have shown chamomile to be effective in aiding with relaxation, and also helping with anxiety, depression, and irritability 😉

Wishing everyone a healthy day today and always!

That’s a Norlan whiskey glass. I have some of those. The black ones are nice. Then Mrs Rookie can’t tell how big my shots are. 😉

The carbonation had entirely fell out, but what was left was a chocolate and dark berry (where’d that come from?) forward, boozy stout. It was surprisingly drinkable and would work very well as a dessert course on its own. Admittedly, my favorite desserts are scotch, bourbon, barley wine and imperial stout, barrel/bourbon aged or not.

I have another of the same year in the cellar, and I’m thinking there’s no further reason to wait. I have a vertical of Stone Imperial Stouts from ‘07 through ‘15 or so that I think are prime for enjoying too.
