Got to one of my favourites.

LOL!--the Bird gets some too--injections into the breast area to keep it from drying out. Not sure how much it really helps after 4 hours of roasting--but it makes the chef happy to have an excuse to open the bottle early in the day and enjoy it through the afternoon.

Impulse bought a “first access” membership for Copperworks whiskey releases in 2020; when I was notified that the first bottle was shipping this week and I realized I still had the better part of the last bottle, I had to get to work!

one Swiss seasonal beer as we explore Biel/Bern.

😀

While in Bern, make sure you visit the Meret Oppenheim fountain--it's a treasure!

Her ladyship arrived home this afternoon with amongst other things a couple of bottles of this gin, t.b.h. the idea doesn't really appeal but thought I would give it a tasting this evening only to be informed we are saving it for Christmas 🙁

Trust we have some 'Gordons'

Reminds me of that part bottle of Goldschläger I have way in the back of fridge somewhere...

I told Gordon, owner of Scotch ‘n’ Soda, I wanted a single malt that was out of the ordinary, or nothing of what we typically see everyday on shelves or menus. I asked for something smooth, with lots of character but to hold all peat. He turned around, climbed on a metal step allowing him to reach the back of the upper shelf and brought this ‘97 vintage that met all of my criteria 😀

cheers!

Company for dinner last night, so started off with some beer, then a Caesar using the new dill pickle vodka...it was awesome:

Then wine, then scotch, then port...then bed...

I enjoyed a local seasonal spiced beer last night, which is a style whose popularity genuinely seems very local here. Then I had a Manhattan as an excuse open a bottle of Jefferson’s. I had only tried one of the aged at sea variations previously.
