The current RR Space Exploration and Aviation auction should be fun to watch. Gus Grisson, Alan Bean, and Ron Evans BA 145.022 Speedmasters are currently up for auction as well as a Gennady Padalka flown Speedmaster and a flown Flightmaster.
The Flightmaster caught my eye, though it looks like it has the wrong box. It’ll be interesting to see how these go…
Amazing to see the box for the 1969 Gold Speedmaster posthumously awarded to the Apollo I astronauts ! . (RR Auction: Grissom #4) .
Gennady Padalka's flown Speedmaster Pro (Lot #9005) https://www.rrauction.com/auctions/...dalka-39-s-flown-omega-speedmaster-pro/?cat=0 previously sold at RR's auction in October 2017: https://www.rrauction.com/auctions/lot-detail/338098805118465 Made $32K + 25% buyer's preminum = $39,458 in 2017. Wonder what it'll make this time around? Estimate is $40K. PS - Looks like the auctioneers have re-used the same set of photos.
Eric Wind flipper extraordinary is getting in on the action with Scott Carpenter's watch. https://robbreport.com/style/watch-collector/scott-carpenter-omega-speedmaster-for-sale-1234809438/ These other three are going to be a bargain compared to Wind's. To think you could have bought Neil Armstrong's whole house for $375k back in 2020. Things are getting strange
You mean this succumb bucket..... https://omegaforums.net/threads/1675-previously-owned-by-president-of-mexico.110775/page-6
That’s an incredibly sad photo, I hope that one ends up on public display somewhere rather than in a vault
Of this 2023 RR auction lot Alan Bean was the only astronaut who wore his Gold "Apollo 11 tribute" Speedmaster during NASA Skylab training. Other astronauts who have worn theirs during training included Pete Conrad, Eugene Cernan and Thomas Stafford. Here's Alan Bean wearing his Gold n° 26 during Skylab training (Photo: NASA) . . Bearing in mind it wasn't worn by any particular astronaut (not even a Russian cosmonaut), that 'MIR 365 Days' Speedmaster did remarkably well. It made $95,021 ($118,776 including buyer's premium) this time around. The same watch last sold for $25,000 (including 25% buyer's premium) at Christie's Omega 50 Sale in December 2015. Nice investment for somebody. https://www.rrauction.com/auctions/lot-detail/?li=347232706649006
