Would you trade this SMP 300M for the 4th Gen PO?

Personally yes, as I could never get last the black date wheel on the SMPc nor the lack of 3 o clock applied indicie.

However the dial I love & the caseback.

The PO looks great just not on the bracelet

Let me see, would I trade my 15 somthing year old SMPc for a brand new PO as an equal trade?

Sure!

Would I trade my 2254 (resently serviced 5 years ago😉) and money for a brand new PO?

No way!

Hard to say. I never really liked the gloss dial SMP. I don't really like the new PO either, so it'd be a hard to choose. I do generally like a date complication, though.

It's an entirely personal and subjective choice. Both are good. I prefer the SMP.

If you ask me to choose between the two, I’d definitely go for the new Planet Ocean.
That said, it really depends on how long you’ve had the 300M and how many memories you have with it - in that case, I’d say keep it.

If the emotional attachment doesn’t matter, and if the slightly larger size of the new PO isn’t an yes, go for it.

Personally I’d keep the SMP, but it seems you may have made up your mind if you’re asking the question

I wouldn't. That particular SMP is a nice looking watch and certainly more comfortable to wear than the PO.

I would not. I like the diver 300M much better than any of the planet oceans.

only your opinion matters, but—in mine—the new PO is noticeably too big for your wrist. It’s a bad fit, frankly. The diameter of the watch doesn’t matter; neither does the circumference of your wrist. It’s down to the lug-to-lug length vs the width of the top of your wrist. Even allowing for the fact that the watch hasn’t been sized yet, it just appears wrong on you. That said, some people don’t care about fit as much.

I’m also of the opinion that that particular gen of SMPc is the best dive watch Omega has ever produced. 41mm is just perfection, and the overall simplicity of the entire thing is perfection. Yours looks great on a strap.
