Would like some advice on a Tri Compax

Wow! Didn't realise there are so many Singaporean collectors here on OF. Is there room at the table for a young, 28-year-old collector just starting out 馃榾?

I asked the question as I'm looking at servicing options locally. I can only think of Mr Willie Quek, formerly from Lange, who might be able to tackle a Tri-Compax. If not I might request Rman to send it to someone in the States or maybe Al Archer in Canada.

Willie is also my go to guy but you have to be patient. He is very good. I will be sure to ask future GTG Organizers to keep you in the loop. Good hunting

@chanjere05 @ELV hello fellow Singaporeans. I was looking for similar servicing options as well in Singapore. Seems like we're getting quite a following for UG here in Singapore. Would love to meet up.

Hello, I'm pretty new to Omegaforums and first posted in the main section about a Speedmaster 105.012 that I purchased last year. I'm now on the lookout for a Tri compax and the UG section on OF has been very helpful in highlighting the many pitfalls.

I came across this Tri Compax, ref. 22250 which looks almost identical to the one featured on the cover of Sala's book, as well as on page 336. The moonphase wheel lacks the smiling face in this example. I'm aware of the notoriety of this particular dealer and the price seems pretty steep?

http://www.lorologiese.com/us/brand...-ref-22250-in-near-new-condition-cal-481.html

Any comments/opinions are most welcome and I would like to further my learning on this great brand! Thank you!
I don't think that you can find a better shaped tri-compax for 7.450 eur., people can criticise but ask them where you can find a better choice...

Looks near mint, service dial, but overall a very nice example of a ref 22250 ! Picture of my 22250. For some reason I got a lot of oxidation on the bezel ?

Hello!

After quite a wait, I can finally share the Tri-Compax which I purchased from fellow OF member Rman! An incredible piece but I'm still trying to get used to how 34.5mm looks on my wrist. I have not decided what strap to put on the watch. Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply in this thread to help a newbie out 馃榾!

Great looking watch, wear it in good health. My 22250 with some patina on the dial says Hi!

I love seeing blue moon phase discs, it adds such a nice contrast on the dial. I would probably go casual with a warm tan suede strap myself.
Are the hands relumed on both sets of watches above?

My hands probably have been relumed with tritium. They still glow when exposed to a strong light source but the hour markers do not glow at all. My dial is a replacement from the 60s and the markers are likely tritium as well.

Thanks for the strap suggestion!

What a gorgeous example! Your patience really paid off, congrats!

Also, I'll use this as an excuse to post a pic of my 22502:
