I can’t comment on the 45.5 mm, but I have a 2209.50.00, and on my 7 inch wrist 42mm is as large as I’d want to go. Not sure what the lug to lug measurement is on the larger model, but depending on your wrist profile it might not look too big.
When you try it on, look at the watch face on - you should see some curvature of the bracelet - that’s always a good indication as to how well a watch fits, IMO.
I personally think it might be too big for your wrist, but it’s how you feel about it, when you try it on, that counts.
.... how you feel about it, when you try it on, that counts.
true, measurement per se is one thing, dial / bezel color, thikness etc also count i believe
to me, speedmaster moon watch 42mm does not feel big to my small wrist, visual attention is within the dial
gmt master ii 40mm feels too big to me, possibly in part due to the visual attention from bezel towards the edge
Also, keep in mind that the shape of your wrist makes a big difference too. A flat 7-inch wrist would probably work fine with that PO, while a rounder shape would make the watch look too big…
The watch sounds ridiculously large to me, but that will be a matter for you to decide in person, based on how it fits your particular wrist. As for photos, wrist shots are not very helpful in judging fit IMO, since they are distorted by the perspective. If you need a picture to help you decide, take a photo of yourself in the mirror ... that gives a more realistic view.
In all honesty, I think the smaller case PO would look better on your wrist.
Just my opinion, of course…
I can’t deny it wears smaller than I expected but I also have to agree it is still BIG
I think I should wait for a 43.5 or 42 one … hopefully one shows soon
On another note, the guy had another mint Breitling Superocean II that looked very nice too
The last pic shows that your wrist is wider than the lug-to-lug watch band pivot point distance, so technically it fits. It does look large compared to a 36mm watch, but also small compared to a 55mm watch.
If all else fails, you could wear it Agnelli style (keyword 'sprezzatura') over your shirt cuff.
Loved the Super Ocean. It was a perfect fit on my 7 in wrist.
This Superocean is even prettier than the available one I am talking about (Superocean II) which has a very crowded dial IMO..
The PO you got is pretty.. is it 45.5mm ?

It’s the 8500 PO version. 42mm, 15.7mm thick, 48mm lug to lug and built between 2011-2016.
The 45.5 PO is 16.5mm thick and 52.5mm lug to lug…it’s definitely a big boy.
In the first pic, it doesn't look great, but those close up straight down shots never do. As long as the lugs don't hang off the edges of your wrists, then you can pull it off, I do remember when I tried the 45 and the 42, I was surprised that there wasn't a massive amount of difference, but just enough to make it a bit more wearable. But, you'd probably feel better off with a 42.
