Worst thing about daylight savings time?!?

I and most people I know would rather leave it at DST year round.
Couldn't we just split the difference and move the clocks a half hour between Standard and Daylight Saving Time and leave the whole thing alone?

An apochryphal tale but worth repeating that on being told about daylight saving a Native American Indian once remarked "Only white man would cut a foot off a blanket, sew it on the other end and think he has a longer blanket"

I have budgies (parakeets) and Biggles is the most reliable time keeper in the house, he starts shouting "wanting to see the manager" at exactly 6:50 PM every evening because at 7:00 PM it is time for the little buggers to go bed, In daylight savings time it becomes 7:50 PM when he starts.
I don't know how he does it with such unerring accuracy.
In the morning he seems the prefer to go by the amount of daylight rather than the time....what a odd little bird he is, the others don't seem to care much, they just leave it to him! He is a rescue, so it would seem to be something ingrained in him from his past.

That’s a pretty mad number of atmos clocks to have but I’d totally have that many if I had the funds, space and no kids to bang into them
It seems I’m only at 11, forgot I sold 2.

Tired of feeling out of whack for a week or so each spring and autumn. Should split the difference and move it half an hour forward or back, this is the new time year round

And I stand with the pups of the world who don't understand why dinner is late again for another day.

Welcome to hell, I don’t think anyone has it worse than us.

Yes, those are half hour time zones, no there is no good reason for them to exist.

That's all kinds of messed up. Is there an Australian GMT with a bunch of different arrows to track this time shifts?

No, we in QLD just try to pretend the rest of the country doesn’t exist. We’re basically the Texas of Australia… with a bit of Florida rolled in for good measure

At this point he might as well get more clocks and set each one to a different time zone.

DST isn't that hard guys In the backward states they think that DST fades the curtains and puts the chooks off the lay, but here in the progressive states we have a more enlightened attitude, we embrace and welcome DST, it means we have more light and a bigger block of time after work to do stuff we like, it might be some sport like golf, tennis or some such, possibly do some gardening if that's your bag, maybe go the the beach or like myself buggerise about with the cars.
By having DST it effectively transfers some daylight from the useless end of the day to a more convenient time of the day more most people, and tis is coming from someone who does a lot of shift work, and as such I don't often get any of benefits of DST, and I still don't mind it.

That's where you're completely and utterly wrong. That hour of morning is extremely useful. I firmly believe that being up and doing something before you go off to work is important for your mental health. I enjoy having enough light to rebuild a carb and relax for a bit before going to work. I find that it makes the drudgery of morning meetings bearable.
