Wonder if anyone can help me with movement id. I have a nice Wonder Watch, ref 156-A. It's not particularly valuable watch, in fact it may be a 'franken watch' and that's fine - this is not meant to be submitted for serious evaluation 馃榾 but I like the look and feel of it and I am trying to see if I can learn something more about the watch, good or bad. I did a write-up about it and i am struggling to identify the movement. You may enjoy reading it.

The article in on my substack and you can find it here: https://open.substack.com/pub/jowat14/p/i-wonder-whatch?r=ln3c8&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

The movement in question is this one - I thought it was a Landeron 248 but that does not seem to match. I also looked at Venus but could not find a match. It may very well be a very generic no-name movement. Whatever may be ,it would be fantastic if someone could assist with the identification. Thanks so much in advance...

That's an amazingly close match !! Thanks guys, I looked at many movements in online db's but somehow did not think to check Valjoux 馃榾. There is one potential issue: the Valjoux is a 17 jewel movement and mine sez 21. Now, it could be that someone replaced that plate at some point with something they had lying around that happen to be stamped with '21 jewels', or it could be an odd way of 'marketing' my movement because even in those days folks were not above overpromising and under-delivering 馃榾 .... the pictures are basically a match for me. Again, thanks so much....

Your movement could have additional jewels. I notice that there appears to be a cap jewel above the escape wheel. I also see what looks like a Valjoux logo under the balance cock. If you can, check to see if "92" is by the logo.

Well spotted re that logo ! I'm impressed. I don't have the movement out of the watch (not sure if I am capable enough to not mess that up so won't attempt it). On a different pic, with the movt in the case, do I see the numbers 92 engraved or not....
