FOR SALE
Universal Aero Compax.

Steel case is unpolished and measures 35mm without the crowns and pushers.

The watch works as it should. It was serviced a couple of years ago at Max Schweizer Swiss Watch Service. The main spring was replaced during service. I have only worn this watch a couple of times and it needs to go to someone who will actually use it.

The dial is original. I doubt you could find a better example of this model.

I haven't sold many watches but I am fairly well known worldwide.

Price is $6000 US net to me including EMS shipping worldwide.

Since the watch is listed with a claim of original dial, I do believe it fair to flag this. It is most certainly not an original dial. Neither is the chrono hand. There is a correctly dialed watch for sale right now and several of us own these.

I will take the plexi off and take a hi res straight on shot. Dissenting parties can then be more descriptive in their posts.
I am pretty sure it good, having said that I am happy to be proven to be wrong.

The only subdial where there are rounded 3s is the top. The rest are flat. Secondly your dial has closed 6... should be open. Spacing on subs at 12/6/45 indicate redialing.

Here is a photo with the plexi off. I have posted this watch on a number of forums over the years without the comments above.

I take this sort of stuff in my stride, I have seen, heard it all before. But as I said, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Let the shit storm begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean??
If you are asking if I changed the chrono hand, the answer is no.

I withdraw this watch from sale.

I am going to give it to my friends daughter and she can sell it to pay for her uni tuition as she sees fit.

Honestly I clearly remember this watch for sale at CT forum some months ago, and even there more than a guy told you that dial was not original.
Then - if I remember well - you deleted the post.

When I saw this dial yesterday I thought it looked way off. Wrong fonts all over the place, no swiss, and not even the same numbers used in the tachy scale (no 220, no 350, etc).

Then I had a look in Sala and found the same exact dial printing on another 22289, although it's not the same watch. I can't really explain this and had to run out the door. Still haven't had time for further research. There are many redials in Sala, especially in the Aero section, but it also seems odd to me to see two of the exact same ref with the same dial printing.............Thoughts?

PS the chrono hand looks fine to me. You see these with the lighter gold tone, I've seen several examples on Aero and also on other models. I don't know if they lost their blue over time, or were just different to begin with, but I believe they are/can be original. The color changes heavily with the lighting/angle, hence the different appearance in the no crystal shot.

Yup, I saw the same in my copy of the book, and was super confused. Even the "2" in the "20" of the right subdial has the same weirdness. If they're the same dial then yeah it's suspect but with two different ones that are consistent with each other... no idea.

Maybe we should move this discussion to the UG section?
