Yeah, maybe Stuart thinks the wrist cheese adds the value; maybe it has DNA from somebody famous!

I wonder how many of these examples are really listed for whitewashing purposes?

I’ve wondered the intent myself. It’s actually the underlying theme of this entire thread- why would you price something for sale SO out of the realm of reality? And I’m not just talking about the dreamers (yes, we know they are waiting for a sucker), but the listings that sit for months or longer- reposted over and over. Assuming the watches being offered are actually real, is there a benefit of having them perpetually for sale? The sellers have to realize their watches aren’t selling at that price as they watch others fly by on the regular.
I am clearly missing something- or are these people just nuts?

I received an explanation and @Syrte , with her powerful intuition, divined it fairly closely.

Seems a person purchased a gold Seamaster from the eBay seller and must have told his mate that his old one is "up for sale on eBay" but really, really doesn't want it going anywhere. Yes, it's a smokescreen.

So if you want to help end this insidious practice I urge you to bid on this piece and put that sneaky spouse in his place!

A friend of mine saw this watch in person and called me last week to ask about it. A "Steve McQueen" wrist alarm for $2.5K. I said: Are you high?

Little pricy, especially when posted next to others on eBay...plenty of watchers that would love to see this sell for 5k

Shameful opportunists. Even at $2.1k it’s obscene as these watches were $1.2k 3 months ago and are not listed as discontinued - just out of stock.

Is seller for real?

That at least is in the realm of "reasonable" given that it's priced about $10K over the highest price on Speedmaster101. Some of the watches here are listed for several hundred times there actual value. 😁

'Fatboy' looks like he is trying to convert 'Rolex' into 'House'. These are all sales currently listed locally.

Eyewateringly rediculous...and if I am wrong and these are reasonable prices, do let me know...
