Wishful Thinking - Watches that have unrealistic price expectations

I mean, we're on Speedmasters, not on fkn heroin!
😁

I've seen some old catalogues achieve unexpected prices (one or two regular sellers seem to have 'the touch') but this seems excessive.
Haven't seen this 1970/71 version before but I think I could improve my life slightly more by finding an alternative use for a thousand Aussie dollars.

^ I keep seeing more of these popping up on eBay, both Omegas and Longines. Time only or with date, often in bad state or redialed, for anything upwards of 1000 euro... One wonders who (if anyone) buys these?

I think if he can get $7500 for it, he should sell it. No collector, in his right mind, will pay that for a redialed Seamaster.
You were much more generous than me. I was thinking TOPS, $3500. According to my rough calculations, the solid 18k gold would be worth about $2100 if his weight was correct. I could be way off on this......

Not a watch.
This is an Australian $1 coin. Usually worth $1. But this one is special.... it looks like it has been run over by a truck.
Usually, I would have thought, it would still be worth $1. No. $1,500!

I'm gonna run over my dollar coins too! Think a car will do it, or do I need a truck?

When I was a kid in Melbourne (@JimInOz can you relate) we used to put coins on the tram tracks to get them flattened. Never knew I could sell them!

How to not sell a watch on ebay.....
Step one: Take REALLY bad angle pictures to keep them confused.
Step two: Ask a ridiculous price.
Step three: Don't show'em what's inside.
Step four: List it for 30 days and hope some sucker can't live without it.
