...and more medals awarded at the #westerosolympics
That was a pretty good display of skill with the javelin, now his army is that much stronger.

I do not think the season finale will be as action packed as the rest of the season. In fact this season has not been as political at the previous ones, so I think the finale will mainly consist of dialogue.

I was pretty pissed off at this last episode. It was very predictable. In fact i think more people should have died over the wall. Being saved at the last possible second is just too cliche, and I thought GoT was above that. And I think the ice dragon will breath ice.

I don't think they have written themselves into a wall, but I do believe they are setting themselves up for a lot of loose ends at the end of the series... reminds me the last 2 seasons of LOST.

For those who read the books.... how do you think Manse Rayder will come back into play (show watchers; he is still alive in the books...).

Also now that there are only two dragons, who will be the one to ride one, Jon or Tyrion?

I think the coming of the Night King was intended to feel like a sideshow until the last season because that's what a majority of the Westerns would have thought of it anyway. Next season will be mainly focused on that war.

Prediction for season finale: Arya will wear Littlefingers face and to try to kill Cersei leading to many favorite characters getting killed but Jon escaping on a dragon.

I agree, that episode was too "Hollywoodian" in my opinion. Cliché.
I didn't even think for a second that Jon would die when he was sacked into that lake.

The dialogues are what made this tv show, along with caracter personality insights - and a sense of realistic unpredictability. There was nothing of all that in this last episode.

well said. i think this was easily the weakest of all seasons. but you know the old saying, "beatles songs are like t1ts; there are no bad ones." the same applies to GOT. 😝

Jumped the shark this season....seemed rushed and knowing their is only one more season makes me all the more convinced it is just getting sloppy.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that they jumped the shark. There was definitely some... questionable writing this season. But I thought the finale was quite strong. Interested to see where the next season goes!

One of the main premises behind the article above is the notion that the dead automatically become wights if they die north of the Wall. How do we know this? It's true that a dead ranger becomes a wight after being brought inside Castle Black, but what evidence is there that a White Walker did not turn the body before it was brought into the castle with the specific task of playing dead and trying to assassinate Lord Commander Mormont. Additionally if this were the case, why does the Night King have to walk over and animate the dead dragon?

I don't think the show has jumped the shark, it has been a weak season but a weak season of a strong show. I am hoping that next season won't seem as rushed as this past one was and maybe it won't be considering the producers have stated that the episodes will almost all be longer than an hour.

Did not watch the finale until just now. I thought it was a very strong finish to another great season. A little rushed but not too terrible. If they just stuck with 10 episodes per season I think it would have been a little organized.

Did not see the Littlefinger assassination coming. I am surprised that Sansa and Arya did not keep with their father's (and family's) rule of "the one who passes the sentence should swing the sword". I expect Jon to be the one to bring it up next season.

I think this is last interaction between Jayme and Cersei before he kills her(standing by that theory). I did panic a little when the Mountain pulled his sword out.

I am trying remember but I cannot... Is there a prophecy about snow falling in Kings Landing? I feel like there is but I may be imagining it.

I did not like that Bran had to literally spell out who Jon was. I'm sure if he didn't some viewers wouldn't have figured it out. However I think that would have been a great way to start the next season. (Jon and Dany walk into Winterfell, Bran calls them inside. Tells them, and then raven comes from Eastwatch)

And of course... blue fire. I guess that's how the wall comes down...

Can't wait till next season! In the meantime I'm looking forward to Season 2 of Westworld.

Yep - they stuck the landing. Littlefinger's demise was hugely satisfying. I will miss the 'I'm Batman' voice though. 😁

Yes. After dismissing the Gilly-bomb, Sam was pretty quick to bring it up after a quick revelatory spouting from Obi Bran Kenobi...

I didn't know what to make of Tyrion standing in the shadows after Jon went to Dany's cabin for their *ahem* summit. Worry? It was a bit creepy him staying there when it was probably obvious to everyone on the ship what was going on.

Just how long can an undead dragon loiter on target and continue to breath balefire? Ah. Of course - MAGIC. 😎

Can't wait for season 8.

Westworld (bit worried about how season 2 will hold together with all the reveals at end season 1) and the new season on Vikings (which I regard as a GOT companion piece) .

HBO kills it. I'm really hoping that the spin offs they come up with for GoT are good, I can't get enough of that world.

Interesting. Just watched the episode, and while I didn't give that scene much thought, my wife picked up on that, too. Does he suspect the truth? Is he jealous? Or is it just the sadness that comes from finally seeing his queen happy while realising the dangers that lay ahead for her?

I don't know if the show jumped the shark. Let's remember that there are dragons, the dead have risen, people can take over animals, people can wear dead people's faces, reincarnation multiple times all happened prior to this season. It is fantasy, pure and simple. Suspend your disbelief and enjoy the ride. I did. 😀
