I do not think the season finale will be as action packed as the rest of the season. In fact this season has not been as political at the previous ones, so I think the finale will mainly consist of dialogue.
I was pretty pissed off at this last episode. It was very predictable. In fact i think more people should have died over the wall. Being saved at the last possible second is just too cliche, and I thought GoT was above that. And I think the ice dragon will breath ice.
I don't think they have written themselves into a wall, but I do believe they are setting themselves up for a lot of loose ends at the end of the series... reminds me the last 2 seasons of LOST.
For those who read the books.... how do you think Manse Rayder will come back into play (show watchers; he is still alive in the books...).
Also now that there are only two dragons, who will be the one to ride one, Jon or Tyrion?
I think the coming of the Night King was intended to feel like a sideshow until the last season because that's what a majority of the Westerns would have thought of it anyway. Next season will be mainly focused on that war.
Prediction for season finale: Arya will wear Littlefingers face and to try to kill Cersei leading to many favorite characters getting killed but Jon escaping on a dragon.
I agree, that episode was too "Hollywoodian" in my opinion. Cliché.
I didn't even think for a second that Jon would die when he was sacked into that lake.
The dialogues are what made this tv show, along with caracter personality insights - and a sense of realistic unpredictability. There was nothing of all that in this last episode.
I didn't know what to make of Tyrion standing in the shadows after Jon went to Dany's cabin for their *ahem* summit. Worry?
