Correct, I also noticed after my post that the standard SMP has red lettering. Sorry for that.
The old 1957 Coax models have red accents on the dial. For example 321.10.42.50.02.001 or
321.12.42.50.01.001.
The only professional models i know are the Apollo 11 35th, Apollo 17 45th editions and the Tokyo 2020s. Are there any other LEs?
Your indication could be correct, but i hope it's a standard model.
It's ALL conjecture. No time line, no idea if it is limited or not, or if it's related to Olympics or Artemis or something else. We don't even know if it's steel, gold, platinum or unobtanium, everybody says it has to be steel but there is no assurance of that. Some OB's say it is coming but they know nothing else. Other than a couple of in-the-wild press pics from Omega we know nothing else. It's genius marketing, Omega spends nothing and gets tons of free press. And it's an interesting story for Omega aficionados, as every Tuesday rolls around the hype builds, 'will today be the day?', and then the day comes and goes. This could go on for months, there are many Tuesdays to come, and there is no assurance it will be dropped on a Tuesday anyway.
Okay, but an unobtanium watch would be really cool
Okay, my guess is it could be part of a limited production “Winter Collection” like the light blue summer collection Seamaster.
OBs take preorders for a certain period of time and then stop production when they hit the preorder allotment. Not a limited edition exactly, which I think they said they weren’t doing much anymore, but similar.
This is gonna be steel.
How do you know that? I hope it is for the health of everyone saying they are ready to throw money at Omega for the watch, but NOTHING has been confirmed about any of the details. It all depends on what Omega thinks is best for their bottom line and where they want to take the Omega Speedmaster line. Recent history would cast doubt on it automatically being steel.
This makes the most sense in a weird way. Omega is moving away from limited count and to limited duration... and the summer blue was... summery. Hard to explain astronauts playing in the snow... unless it's Olympics, but that's far enough out it doesn't make sense to me
I still think people are leaning on the red astronauts in the snow too much. I don't really see a connection and I didn't take that last end of year email to be a teaser for this watch. Snow for winter, astronauts cause thats practically Omega's mascot, and red cause its Christmas and Omega's color.
Completely agree with this. Just seemed like a regular marketing email to me. I think people are really grasping at straws on that one.
