Will We Finally See A New White-Dial Speedmaster Professional Soon?

That lacquered dial looks sharp. Why is it that whenever I look at a Speedy that doesn't have a black dial, it just seems like a step backwards from the perfection achieved with the original Moonwatch (save for black dials gone chocolate!). I'll check this one out in person and reserve final judgment till then.

Looks like I’ll be stopping by my AD soon to check this out. Whenever I have tried on a speedmaster I just thought it was too close to my 1st gen PO with the same case, black dial, and black bezel. The white dial changes EVERYTHING.

Are these actually available now? I wasn't able to make it to my AD event today

Had a chance to check it out last night and was able to compare it against some other white pieces.

Compared to the Alaska Project dial

Compared to the Canopus Gold

Against my Mitsukoshi dialed speedy and 45th Snoopy hands

Overall, I loved the new dial speedy! Felt it was different enough to mine to add it to the collection 😀

Tried one on today at an OB in London.
It’s a cracker. I want!

Great post, very useful to compare all those. The new one looks pretty good!

If one wanted to “upgrade” the black moonwatch 3861 with a trade in, how would you do it with minimal hassle? Boutiques do not have any trade-in program as far as I’m aware, but looking for an easy switch…

Love the new dial actually! The batons and sub-dials are properly proportioned, and overall gives a totally different vibe compared to the OG black

Wait until the grey market or secondary market dealers have them and then do a trade in.

You will get the best value by selling yours privately and then purchasing the white dial on your own terms.

Listing shows movement as “automatic “!

I think maybe that, "automatic" means "not quartz" or maybe "without battery" to some people.

This piece looks like the perfect companion to my 1861, hesalite. It has the new movement, it's sapphire, of course the white dial, applied indices and logo, new bracelet, open caseback, it's like Christmas came early, all these cool things that don't overlap with my already favorite watch, yet it is still the freaking Speedmaster.

I love it! Need to add it to the collection in the near future.

Maybe the one other things that would add to the difference list would be a ceramic bezel, but still, this is more than good enough changes to justify 😜

It's not really an upgrade watch, it's just a different dial. I wouldn't jump into the hype and immediately get rid of the black dial to get the white dial. Let things settle down, go see the watch if you haven't already done so, and then decide if you want to change. The most straight forward way is to sell your watch (plenty of online dealers will buy it, or sell it yourself), then buy a new one from a dealer. It will cost you some money in the process which is why you should let things settle down. No need to rush into this, the white dial is not a limited edition....time is on your side.

Took a few shots under different lighting. Really digging this new release!

Is the dial stepped in the exact same way as black 3861 model? I can see in the subdials but not really for the main dial?!
