Hum… i would just say, not too bad Omega, not too bad…
An additional hesalite option would have been nice though.
Yes I agree, it would be nice.

Looks fantastic. I’m a little disappointed it’s not a LE only because it looks like I may actually end up spending $8-9K for a speedy!

For what they are charging, I'd rather buy back my 68 DON transitional.

Taddyangle: "Only with sapphire. Why?"

Because it is a better material? Because it isn`t space qualified?

Edit: Answered the wrong post ::facepalm1:: sorry

The price of a speedy jumped the shark when the big box came out in 2014 and it went up over $700 and has only been going up every 6-12 months since.
Yet every new release we get a “but the price”

^these have gone up a lot more than the Basic Speedy since 2014 😗

It's a fun release, and a reasonable addition to the line. Doesn't woo me enough to want one on Day 1 and by the time they are readily available and discounted, I'll probably be more excited about something else.

...and I have to think that there will be a hesalite version in 12 months time. It's all about the SKUs.

Agree, and admit to being a "but the price!" offender.

I think it's partly because of the gap between the last Speedy I purchased in 2020 (FOIS, brand-new from AD) at just under 5k and the release price of this fella at CAD 11k. Sure, there have been price increases, sometimes several times a year, but 6k is some delta. It gets reinforced with every release because it's most noticeable with new releases. For me, anyway.

And it makes what might have been an automatic purchase a much more cautious decision. For me, anyway,

This is exactly what I have been hoping it would be -- a stainless steel, 3861, sapphire sandwich, with a white dial. 😀 Well done, Omega.

Nice release. In my opinion they lost a good opportunity to introduce the ceramic tachy bezel in a non limited Speedmaster.
