·It's a fun release, and a reasonable addition to the line. Doesn't woo me enough to want one on Day 1 and by the time they are readily available and discounted, I'll probably be more excited about something else.

Agree, and admit to being a "but the price!" offender.
I think it's partly because of the gap between the last Speedy I purchased in 2020 (FOIS, brand-new from AD) at just under 5k and the release price of this fella at CAD 11k. Sure, there have been price increases, sometimes several times a year, but 6k is some delta. It gets reinforced with every release because it's most noticeable with new releases. For me, anyway.
And it makes what might have been an automatic purchase a much more cautious decision. For me, anyway,

·Nice release. In my opinion they lost a good opportunity to introduce the ceramic tachy bezel in a non limited Speedmaster.
