Will the Silver Snoopy every be available from a AD?

I know Omega Boutiques have gotten pretty much all Snoopy allocations since the launch. My question is will this ever be offered at the AD level? I ask because here in Canada we only have 1 boutique on the West coast and a few ADs in the Toronto area took deposits(my self included) and pretty much guaranteeing the watch but none have yet to receive even a single Snoopy so far.

I've even contacted Omega directly and they couldn't give a straight answer if the Snoopy is a Boutique only piece. I know there's a large # of people in the same boat as myself who have had a deposit or even paid in full over 2 years ago now. Its frustrating to say the least and it has really turned me off from the brand.

ADs got some pieces and they are delivering them.
It’s a very small % of the allocation… but they getting them.

Not just a question of whether they will be sent to ADs, but whether they will be sent in sufficient numbers to enable you to get one. If you’re first on the ADs list then fine, but if you’re number 4, and the AD gets one watch in two years then it’s a different story. Personally I wouldn’t be optimistic, sadly. There are presumably still thousands of people on lists at Omega boutiques too getting fulfilled very very slowly.

And countries where no OB is located so will those in Netherlands, Belgium and so on even get to purchase a Snoopy locally?

Both Omega ADs in my town havent been allocated a single piece yet, neither a 321 EdWhite nor Snoopy. It seems so far only the Boutiques were getting them.

In some places perhaps -- but not in Canada.

According to my AD, who addressed this specifically with the Omega rep here, as of Dec 1 2022, no Canadian AD has received a single Snoopy and there is no confirmation that they ever will. Like many in the US and elsewhere, many if not all Canadian hopefuls were required to place deposits for this watch. That's a lot of money in AD accounts over the last 2 years.

The message seems to be "Hang in there, could be a few years yet, but there's no guarantee."
.
It would be interesting to see someone in the watch community punditry, say someone from Fratello, address the convoluted and opaque release history of the Snoopy.

It was and still is 5-10X more popular than was ever thought. Have known a few people in Australia get them spread out over the 2 years they have been getting released. Know of one person that was just about to give up…..but got theirs 2 months ago.

There is going to be a lot of people that will miss out, but a lot of people that will get them… apparently they are still getting calls weekly with interest in buying one and going on a list. Was told by a source that only 12 months ago there was still 100 people a month enquiring. Also told by same reliable source they will still be making them in 2024 and supply issues are still effecting roll out.

In all honesty there is probably thousands they could sell in Australia (and probably Canada) but will probably only receive a few/several hundred.

If they make 20k world wide that’s not many to each country.

As for VIPs getting special treatment…Rich people are more likely to pay over retail so not every sportsman or singer has jumped a que but more likely bought at above retail.

As for spending history…..one of the first to receive one in Sydney was a 19 year old kid that had saved money from working at McDonald’s. Buying history of a G-Shock at 16…

Luxury items with limited availability is the world we live in 😗

An area / regional Omega sales manager visiting an OB in the US told me earlier this year that unless you are already on the list, and been there for a while, there is basically no chance; meaning, it is essentially a waste of mental energy asking to be put on a list at this point and hoping and waiting. He did hedge just a bit, by saying "never say never", but the message was clear: you'd be wasting your time, focus your search elsewhere on other pieces.

Hoping to see a silver snoop at an AD isn’t going to meet the expectations you’re hoping for. You’re going to see the same inflated prices, unless you’re able to grab one from an OB.

Thanks for the additional details -- interesting to hear that the global demand is still sky-high and that the allocations process can actually be democratic.

I'm not too fussed at this point -- I bailed from my original spot ages ago but said sure when my AD asked if I wanted to take a spot that had opened up, no deposit required. If it shows up some day great, and if not so be it.

But I won't do a waiting list w deposit again, with Omega or anyone else. I just find the experience deeply frustrating, even when the watch arrives as promised.

Basically saying "spend a bunch of money and you'll get one".

I know for a fact not a single AD in Canada has received one but in the countries were a Snoopy might have been delivered at a AD it was upon specific instructions to deliver that watch to a very high profile customer from Omega directly.

I’m pretty sure in Canada that if an AD asked for deposit, it was the AD asking and holding the money, not Omega.

It may not be entirely predictable, but I believe some of this might have been foreseeable based on how the Apollo 11 was allocated with priority to OBs in 2019. Based on Snoopy 45 prices, high demand and OB only availability might have been foreseen.

Apollo 11 50ss was imo fair distribution, I was on the list at 3 AD's in the Netherlands and got the call in Aug '19, 2 months later the other 2 mistakenly called although I had informed them I got mine already.

I’m talking specifically about US, there are deliveries to ADs, very small numbers but I personally know 2 people that got the reference from AD. Both excellent customers.
I got mine from OB, and of course that is the most promising way to receive the watch.

That may well be the case, butit doesn't matter much to the end customer, b/c the deal is that you don't get onto the list unless you're willing to put down a deposit. Certainly it would be preferable to go through an OB and not have to put a deposit down, but that's not an option unless you're within buying distance of the lone OB in Vancouver.

Worthwhile to build a relationship with a dealer, preferably an OB. Here in UK they even ship since Covid. If you have to go via AD take one who moves volume with Omega.

All the OBs I know accepted deposits by phone and using a credit card. You didn’t have to be there physically.
Was Vancouver procedure different?
