·Alright all you normal people, it's time for a quick lesson in the psychology of internet trolling. Believe me, I'm an expert on the topic - from both sides of the fence.
First, everyone gets a wild hair up their yazoo once in a while that they just can't drop. Ypsilon / rolemachine's was the 200 post rule. He railed against it with both screen names. We've.... oops, make that ΩF (because I'm not part of the "we" meaning the moderator team anymore) had one guy who we've banned at least 3 times. He probably still has alternate screen names. Second, a lot of ITs (Internet Trolls) think since they're semi anonymous on websites like this they don't have to adhere to common decency - see this excellent article: https://markmanson.net/internet. Third, sometimes trolling is fun. Maybe you got the shaft from somebody and want to get even. Who hasn't enjoyed a little payback? Or maybe you got banned for verbally smacking some putz around, but still feel the need to give him/her more 'education'. Could be you're having a bad day and want to take it out on somebody else. Hey, maybe you want to play a game and see how long it takes the admin team to sniff you out. There are LOTS of reasons to do a little internet trolling. Hell, sometimes it's a lot of fun.
As a mod, it's your job to take out the trash. However, being a watch forum moderator for ~8 years, I can honestly say that sometimes I enjoy seeing the banter of the regulars against the IT. It also brings an uptick in traffic, and having a common enemy bonds the group.
