Why won’t you sell anything? We ain’t good enough for your watches?? 😡

😁

Just kidding (might seem obvious but you never know if people understand sarcasm) 😀

How about we tie up this thread? 😀
😁 Well they say almost everything is for sale, it just depends on the price 😉

So is it 200 posts before you can post in the sales threads then? ::stirthepot::
I’ll be there by the time this thread gets closed ::stirthepot::

And in some cases the price will never be low enough...

The problem is when people use those posts to judge if they want to work with you or not.

People are fickle creatures. When money is involved they will sell to anyone. I’d hazard a guess that if someone was selling and I offered the asking price, it wouldn’t matter what posts have been in the past.

You couldn't be more wrong. There are plenty of members here I wouldn't sell a watch to even if they offered double the asking price.

Very cynical and fortunately not how the world always works.

You’re right: people are fickle creatures. Or perhaps more accurately: oftentimes, people can be fickle.

But not here.

In my experience, anyway, the OF community (operative word) is respectful, helpful and clear in intent. Sure, there have been and will be those who insist on skirting or questioning the rules most members tacitly accept. This understanding and respect of guidelines is what makes OF such an excellent place. It has taught me plenty and saved me money; the gift that keeps on giving. And @Spacefruit is right: communities pay attention. (Speaking of which, when you do reach the magic post number read and learn from his sales posts. They exemplify the transparency, honesty and excellence this site is well known for.)

In many arenas, you are correct: when it comes to the necessities in life, people will lower their standards to meet their needs.

We have a different milieu here. Most people weighing in don't need to buy a watch or sell a watch. It's a hobby for the relatively well-heeled. And, because this is a social club, of sorts, those who sell can be picky who they sell to. However, if they recently lost their job, they would sell to you in a heartbeat.

So if I offered you £10,000,000 for one of your watches you wouldn’t sell?

Alright....

I wouldn’t sell my Casio G-shock for £100.000.000.000.000.000.000 million trillion trillion billion

Jeff Bezos could offer all his money for one of my watches and I would say “No thanks, but how about you instead pay your workers more”
