·Hi OF,
I thought I'd share what was a wholly negative experience with Theo & Harris.
This review is a little delayed but I saw someone recently online who also had a negative experience, so I think it's worth sharing my experience so as hopefully others avoid the pain too!
CONTEXT
I bought a off him (Christian @ Theo & Harris) last year. The Theo & Harris website clearly stated that all their watches and checked, and inspected so as to confirm that are in well working order. Moreover obviously this is very much assumed if you are a watch dealer in the industry.
ISSUE
This watch (vintage rolex) arrived in timely fashion, but was unbelievably slow (over an hour per day) so something was clearly wrong. I took it to reputable watchmaker in my city was had a quick look, and could clearly tell that the watch had not been looked at or serviced in years. Needed a full service and a few replacement parts (i.e. balance).
RESOLUTION
I contacted Theo & Harris, and after numerous (around 5) emails, as well as trying to reach out via all other possible mediums (whatsapp, text, instagram, etc.), I was receiving radio silence (i.e. no response at all to any of my messages raising these issues). I ultimately was forced to raise a paypal dispute, when someone from Theo & Harris finally responded weeks later. They didn't apologise, and only offered around 50% of the service fee. I tried to negotiate for more, but they wouldn't budge, so ultimately accepted this and wrote it off as a lesson learnt.
This seems to be not isolated, and there are a number of reviews online that are similar to mine, across a few other forums, that I wish I had read before. It is also extremely frustrating to see multiple youtube videos go up and also a dozen instagram posts, all while I am getting zero response to my issue. I'd suggest Christian perhaps pick one of either watch dealing, or watch youtube/instagram content, to focus on, as both seem to be too much of a juggle.
Be warned OF!
