One of my favourite DS 😀
Gorgeous! Does it have a cal 25-45 inside?
(Oh, and: were the pie-pan DSs ever fitted with non-dauphine hands?)

Just a quick reminder that there is an immense pool of knowledge and photos and conversation about the DS line over on https://klocksnack.se/threads/certina-ds-“where-it-all-began”.42119/
Highly recommended, the Klocksnack DS thread is the mother of all threads for Certina DS nuts; just looking at some of the photos is a treat (or torture, depending on how one reacts to watches one does not yet have).
The (thankfully much shorter) thread about the differences between DS 012 and 112 cases also is interesting: https://klocksnack.se/threads/certina-ds-012-vs-112-nu-löser-vi-gåtan.107956/

Thanks!
Yes, its a pat.pending with a 25-45 inside 👍
Not sure what exactly you mean with pie pan, but to my knowledge these halo dial variants came with dauphine hands. I have seen some with other hands, but i am pretty sure those were replacements.
Maybe a more knowledgeable @Milos Columbo can chim in.

I emphasize one the "automatic" 'cause as I said before, I haven't seen any black dial auto, only manual.
I also think it's a franken :
a. Black dial automatic, never seen that
Just stumbled on the first black dial DS automatic that somehow doesn’t look fake:
https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/certina-ds-1960er-automat-25-651-sammler-1192118268/

I seem to remember there was a discussion about black DS dials somewhere on the epic klocknack thread, but I‘m far too lazy to go searching for it.

But I’ve been thinking, as I truly think there are no real automatic back dials…I’ve developed a Theory…hear me out.
Of course all of this is just theoretical. Also I need your help you fellow ds1 aficionados so as to confirm said theory.

As I was browsing over some DS1 pics I noticed something, that I’ll try to put on the photos below.

1. It seems to me that all the DS1 with Baton Hands re marked - T Swiss made T -
2. Whereas the dauphine hands only seem to be marked - Swiss Made -

Why you ask ?? No idea…maybe the amount of tritium on dauphine is so small they didn’t need to mark the T….

But if we come back to the watch you show, back dial with baton hand…this one is marked - Swiss Made - which would - if my theory is true - make it a fake dial/redial.

So I invite you to check on your DS and tell me what’s marked on yours (I can’t as my two DS1 are currently at the watchmaker 😀

What you you think about this Theory ???

New arrival: Bristol 230 with a lovely dial but the plated case kind of bums me out. Oh well, it was cheap...

My Bristol 290 says hi! 😉
Cant resist the sword hands 😁

These Certina bracelets (possibly for later "DS") were available on German Ebay for a while. They were not expensive and fit quite well with the first generation DS. I guess they are from the 80s.

@Eve @minutenrohr Where y'all found such fitting bracelets? Those are not original DS bracelets, right?
the one on the last photo is a one of a kind. i made it myself. its actually originally a Seiko bracelet.

One of the later variants, a bit sad about the crack in the crystal..
