I really liked our VW SUV's. They are a great bang for your buck. When we first got the Atlas, we had a Q7 rental for a week or so.
I get it, they know how to make good driving vehicles.

...We both wanted a Bronco... we knew what we signed up for and we don't mind it a bit.
...It is my wife's "daily" and she of course loves being one of the larger vehicles on the road. It's plenty quick merging into traffic and does fine around corners...
My wife works at Ford, and so we've often limited our car choices to one of their offerings. I've had an Explorer Sport, Mustang 5.0 convertible, and she always defaults to the small/simple/economical Escape. The fact we left the Ford family to get our daughter a Tiguan was a big deal, but I felt it justified given just how great the Tiguan drove (and my daughter really wanted the 3rd row option, she used it often in High School and now University when driving friends).

Funny you mention Scout. VW acquired the rights and will fall under the VAG umbrella. I'm really interested in seeing what comes of that.
. Interestingly, my brother-in-law (wife's sister's husband) works for Navistar / International Truck (which was acquired by VW Group) and so his wife recently got their first non-US OEM car, which happened to be a Tiguan. Bro-in-law was the one who shared the rumored Scout news, if it ends up looking as good as the renders, it should be a hot seller! I'd take an electric Scout over the horrible metallic abomination Tesla has brought to market...

Thank you! Miami Blue... nice choice! If it had been entirely up to me, I would have chosen a more 'fun' color, but my wife strongly prefers gray...

My previous daily was a Trackhawk (707bhp from factory, which I had tuned to 1000+bhp... until a rod went kablooey) and it was a blast. My wife hated it "cuz racecar...", and she loves the refined Macan. I recently found myself at a red traffic light on an empty 4 lane Telegraph (in Michigan) but for a Trackhawk that lined up beside me. When the light turned green, we had some fun (no traffic, no dangerous moves) and I was surprised that the Macan GTS held it's own and only lost at 2/3 lights. We exchanged silly childish grins and simultaneoulsy complimented each other's rides. I left smugly satisfied that the 0-60 performance I lost from the Hawk wasn't as bad as I'd feared. Road handling is of course far superior, and the interior fit and finish isn't even a contest. All in all, I haven't regretted the Macan for a minute!

For me, it was a toss up between the Miami Blue and Python Green, both extremely rare and equal wait times from factory. Was able to talk the wife into the MB, but she was dead set against the PG. Coming out of COVID, I needed something different and cheerful and was tired of the ordinary color palettes I had owned in the past. I also agree that the finishes in the car inside and out are amazing, definitely more refined than the XM5 I owned previously.

Enjoy your ride, it's beautiful.

That TrackHawk though. Ooof.
I told my wife I wanted to get a wide body Charger Hellcat. She said "no" lol.
Yeah, it got a LOT of attention! My wife originally said, "why would you pay over $100g for a Grand Cherokee!! No one will ever know what the heck it is!!", and was she ever wrong. When driving it around, cars would regularly pull up alongside, take a long look and give a thumbs up! It comes lower than most Grand Cherokees, with upgraded suspension. I installed lowering springs to drop it a bit more, and the ride wasn't as bad as most stock GC's, but still not nearly as nimble and responsive in corners as the Macan. Buckets of fun at traffic lights though!!

Never liked Hyundai. Never really cared for FWD. Yet here I am driving a baby blue FWD Hyundai with an eLSD that makes you feel very confident with the twisty bits. Ferocious and slightly awkward being a 4dr hatchback. Pity they discontinued after a few years.

Should have told her you were getting "a new cat" ... just a purring little kitty ;-)

Well that would depend upon which car you’re comparing it to!

I’ve never driven an MG3 and I don’t particularly want to, but I imagine that they are the usual boring front drive econobox rubbish, with bonus extra crap factor!

Just like in the similar Rolex thread, these days, if you ride in a nice car through some neighborhoods, you risk life and limb.

That’s why I just love, “The Stealth.” It lets you drive anywhere in complete confidence, yet you get to enjoy the comfort and luxury you’ve come to expect in a high-end vehicle. It’s the metaphorical equivalent of dressing like a complete vagabond, whilst having a $200,000 Newman Daytona under your cuff.

So, I got into watches a couple years ago and really spoiled myself with a few nice watches but I really just had myself to enjoy them since no one else I knew really cared about more than their Apple watch, which was fine, I like my watches and don't need anyone else to be into them for my enjoyment. But I have always been into cars, and always had a fast sporty car since I was 16, which most recently was an S550 Mustang GT, loved that car!

About 5 months ago I traded the Mustang for a Porsche 911 (997.2) and I noticed something different about the Porsche owners, which is they ALL had great watches on at the couple meet ups I went to. Someone even commented on my Speedmaster I was wearing that day. I realized I had found my watch people! It got me thinking, it seems like basically all Porsche guys are watch guys as well, so how many watch guys are also into Porsches or cars in general like myself?

Here is my current ride, what do you drive?

Porsche also although I year matched mine to my 2 Constellations.

I went the other way and matched my #PCASpeedmaster to the year of my car 😎

I did exactly the same and bought a couple of 1928 US RR pocket watches to match the manufacture date of my 1928 Austin 16/6 pictured above.
It actually was what rekindled my pocket watch bug of 40 years ago.
