I am pretty sure they hired two or three twelve year old boys to head up design for them a few years back.
I don't think they've gotten over the Chris Bangle era, oddly enough he did contribute to the design of the E46 sedan which was a high watermark for BMW styling before it all went to shit with his "flame edge" style and the hideously ugly rear treatment on the E65!

Bangle wasn't all bad - he gave us the Z4M after all...

Out of all the cars I've owned, this is the one I still wish I had the most.

Was without a 2 seat convertible for a few years. Always loved them and still do so 2 years ago I bought the best (In my mind) I could for the money. GEN2 manual so plenty of power and servicing every 2 years so major every 4, it’s an affordable toy along with minimal depreciation.

Always puts a smile on my face when I’m out in it.

I'm tempted to buy a Z4M!
NZ as you may know is the world capital of used JDM cars and cars such as the Z3 and Z4 abound here at ridiculously cheap prices, so much fun for so little money! But unfortunately like the cars I am on a 2nd time round trip and having the luxury of a 2 seater probably doesn't sit too well with a young family needs much to my disappointment.
However I am fairly sure I might buy one when the opportunity arises.

The same cannot be said of current Bimmers. I struggle to think of one that is easy on the eyes these days.
How about this one, even has a manual,

The current Z4 is indeed one of the few exceptions.

And it would have been even better if BMW had had the good taste to approve its impressive Concept Touring Coupe for production, as it was absolutely gorgeous.

Maybe you can tell that I have a bit of a soft spot for "breadvan" designs...

Here's the lastest addition to my fleet. Stock photo but the same. My unicorn, if there are a hundred in the whole country I would be surprised.

I'm usually not a fan of Mercs, but this one is among the few I find genuinely interesting. Nice catch!

IDK I know a lot of Bavarian auto fans might disagree…

Definitely between Stuttgart and Munich for best blues.

Yellow.. Maranello then Munich (Dakar and Phoenix), sorry Stuttgart FLY is copying Maranello.

Red… Hard to beat Maranello, but Imola red from Munich is a banger.

Orange? Please Inka wins Munich!

Stuttgart takes browns

Munich takes purple. Daytona and Technoviolet.

Tan… Stuttgart but Maranello in tan is baller.

Black goes to Detroit. Only Cadillac could offer 7 blacks on the same model on the same year.

Whites…. Hmm Alpine Weiss from Bav is good…. But I think Stuttgart wins.

Silver is Stuttgart hands down. Although this one’s a cross town rivalry…

Into cars, blessed to have owned dozens. Nothing in the garage right now would tell you I am auto enthusiast though 😕 L322 5.0 HSE is the most interesting

Cleaned out the third garage spot today. Hoping to potentially fill it after winter. We shall see come spring.

Well, what partially lead to taking this car over any other was the fact that way back in 2007 when I bought my sapphire black Z4M, what my wife really wanted was this:

Interlagos blue, which for me is my all time favourite blue. But I didn't want to wait, and I also like black. The Gentian blue is a little darker and has hints of purple in it, but the Interlagos blue really pops!

Yeah I don't know...
Laguna Seca Blue is the only memorable BMW blue for me.
Where as Porsche has sooooo many.

So @Archer , when are you ditching your Bimmer for a Porsche? lol
