I was on the fence about the reverse panda, and came to own it because it was part of the deal in order to get the Ed White allocation from the OB. I don't regret it. I think it is probably the most comparable to a steel Daytona...

Though I think Rolex wants us to believe this Tudor BB is the more direct competitor

I like all three, but I think the Tudor's case is too thick and unrefined by comparison

I find that kind of shocking in the photo - it doesn't wear too much worse in real life...

Here's the Daytona profile vs Speedy

And the Daytona vs Tudor - you can kind of see a family ressemblance

I have that Tudor also. Yes it's huge, but I love it.

I agree. I've had a Tudor BB Chronograph. It is no where near a Daytona. It felt unrefined. I would take any Speedy over the Tudor.

I've been collecting and enjoying watches now for many years, and have learned a few things in the process. One of those things is that the Speedmaster is my favorite watch, all things considered.

I've now accumulated enough Speedmasters to either require a bigger box, or a second one, which got me thinking about what else I might want to consider (eventually) adding to this set.

Given the current state of the collection - which includes 5 modern Speedy Pros, 5 neo-vintage Speedy Reduced and two "non-Pros" - what might you consider adding here?

On my "when the right watch appears list":

- 145.022 w/ 220-error bezel
- and maybe a Blue dial Schumacher or Cart 3510.81/0

EDIT: I realize there is a lot here to enjoy and be grateful for, and I'm in no hurry to add things. I also realize that there are a lot of corners of the Speedmaster Universe that I am not familiar with, and curious to get some feedback or suggestions.

I have the Black Bay Chrono and five speedies. They all have their place.

I'd recommend gold one - either full gold or two tone. I recently bought 3861 sena gold two tone, and it's just beautiful.

The 1861 Relaunch. It's the perfect combo of vintage and modern. Paired with the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary flat link bracelet it's perfect.

I would love to have a Speedy Tuesday 1 and 2, as well as the first two Snoopies.... and perhaps one of the PM versions, though I think the prices are too high right now for those...

However, the next one in my collection fills the (obvious) gap - a blue CART dial because of the Paul Newman connection, and because I needed a blue one to complete the set. I don't have any other dials this shade of blue, not even close...

It's in the mail...

And now again... what next?

What about vintage?
Yep … you need to chase some vintage for sure.

If an excellent example of a 145.022 w/ 220 error bezel popped up, it would be very high on my list

I have only 3..😀 but here is my view. I recently added sedna gold bicolor 3861. Very beautiful without being too flashy or screaming. I think speedy in general go well with full or half gold. If I have enough financial resources in future, I will definitely consider a full gold one. Here is the pictures of the watch from here and there on the internet.

What about a Seamaster to add a little depth rating to the collection?😉

@hen I have these three Seamasters

But, these are all on the chopping block at the moment, since I have a couple Submariners and a YM that I just think are better in this category, at least for me. To be fair - that is along with a Daytona, also on the chopping block, because I think the Speedmasters are just better.... for me : )

a PM Speedy might be in the cards, but not at current rates.

I shouldn't mention it, but I've been hankering for an Apollo Soyuz for a while... The caseback always left me with a touch of 'meh', but I can't help but want that dial.
