Which speed master to buy?

I picked up the new moonphase last summer and couldn't be happier with it. It is definitely one of those references that you just know when you get it that you won't be passing it on, unless it is to a child.

Its the date feature which is more of use, the Moonphase disk is of no use at all unless you are a werewolf or a hippy who like to plant crops by the cycles of the moon biodynamically.
Would come in pretty handy for astrophotography.

If you're starting down the road that usually leads to multiple Speedmasters, it's important to establish not only your priorities, but to acquire something that pleases & satisfies you, the prefference for manual or automatc, date or other complications should also be a guide. Budget is usually your primary sifting tool. As far as Speedmasters, I think starting with the basics by getting either a standard Hesalite Speedy Pro or a FOIS is a good strategy. First & foremost, and I'll quote a friend here, "The most expensive watch you'll ever buy is the one you bought instead of the one you really wanted" Welcome to the madness! I started slow, but #3 will probably come when Omega does a METAS Certified Speedmaster that I can, hopefully, afford.
Bingo. The day the METAS standard Moonwatch with hesalite shows up, I’ll be placing my order in Wellington. Absolutely no question.

If you're at all budget restricted or risk adverse, i'd say start with the Tuesday and see if the the Speedy bug really gets you...if so, I doubt a moonphase will be too far off. Then again, if budget isn't an issue and you truly LOVE the way the moonphase looks, it may be the way to go, as I've never met anyone who lost money on a re-selling of one.

Are all master chronometers also METAS-certified?

With the depreciation in price, go get a used Speedmaster 60th... Because eventually you’ll want the unobtainable CK2915

The triple date
Not sure about the logo at 3....I guess it means it’s not covered by the seconds hand when it’s stopped?

I’m not familiar with that Speedy. Is it full size or more of the FOIS or Reduced?

I got the 3576 in 2016, and I like it more and more over time. It’s very similar to the moonphase posted by the OP, but with gold toned rings around the three subdials and a display back. It’s less expensive, too. It’s my only Speedmaster, and there isn’t another one I like better of all their models.

It’s smaller. So more like reduced.

let’s not go acting like anything on an analog watch is particularly useful, strictly speaking ... unless society grinds to a halt, in which case I’ll take a Speedy that helps me grow potatoes
