Which One Is The Redial?

As I have 3 Seamasters in pieces at the moment, I thought I'd conduct an experiment. With the ability to examine the dials in minute detail, I can categorically say that two are originals and one has been refinished.

The candidates are (left to right):

Cal 750 sparkly dial
Cal 562 dial from the donor movement for my 1960 resurection.
Cal 613 from a Cosmic.

So which one is it? Answer tomorrow.

I'd say the Cosmic is the refinised dial. The SWISS MADE is split by the 6:00 marker, while the whole phrase should be centered which should slightly push it counterclockwise so it looks more like the center dial, leaving the last S in SWISS almost under the 6:00 marker.

I'm for the Cosmic, the Seamaster and COSMIC font print looks too heavy and just "not quite right".

agree, cosmic. the cross hairs look wrong, and I think the omega logo is too recent for the period.

I need you guys in my back pocket when I get on ebay. I sat staring with the screen two inches from my face at the blown up picture. The "O" in omega on the Cosmic is wrong and I can see the "S" in Seamaster, but in an ebay picture would have just been taken.

As you all seem to have gone for the Cosmic, here are a couple of close-up photos for anybody who might want to change their mind:

In this second one, note the arrow and dot to show the direction and extent to turn the movement to release it from the case. This is hidden beneath the tension ring.

OK, so here is the answer:

I think that, at worst, the Cosmic may have been a service dial before they stopped using tritium., but the real re-finish is the one from the donor movement.

The center line in the E in Omega is the only thing that looks a little off to me and maybe a few TINY variations in the Seamaster but I'm not sure TBH.

so how can you tell it is refinished?

It is a very good re-dial,,but close inspection reveals its faults. To make it look as good as it could, the furniture was removed prior to re-finishing but the E and the G in Omega are not right.

It will now be destroyed, including the black onyx markers - I don't condone frankening in any way, shape or form. Replacement of parts is OK but dials and identifying marks are a NO in my book.
