Which of these JLC would you not buy?

If it's not a tank, why bother.

I prefer dressier watches in any occasion, and I'm dressed down quite often.
Diver… TDMP…. Atmos….

And technically the REVERSO is not a tank nor a dress watch.

I would choose the silver dial because the all black combination makes the watch a bit more formal, whereas the silver dial is more playful and can move in any circle casual to dress.

I would personally go for the silver dial, much more versatile!!

Or for a Reverso Duoface with travel time complication!! Literally Timeless!!

I absolutely, 100%, am not going to buy either of these. But hypothetically, if you had to? Like, if there was a gun to your head? Which would be your preference?

I dress down 99% of the time - so wouldn't want anything too dressy. And I thought going into the AD the black dial would be more casual, and therefore more versatile. So I am trying to figure out if this is true. I honestly can't tell, and I'd hate to make the embarrassing faux pas of wearing the wrong dial-colour JLC 😉

Any advice?

On the wrist it is the silver dial that gave me the more immediate rush. The black dial almost underwhelmed.

Thats a choice i couldnt make.. so i went for a black and silver dial version 😁

Never seen the black dial live, but I had a chance to try the silver dial version and it is just awesome 👍 thats the one i would probably go for.

It's a completely different ball game. JLC is not concerned with robustness. Omega and Rolex are not as concerned with finishing. Omega and Rolex for dailys and JLCs for special ocasions
If by that you mean that a JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon is not a sports/tool watch, I would agree with you. If, on the other hand, you are implying that JLC's build quality doesn't rival Omega or Rolex, I disagree. JLC offers an 8 year warranty. With Omega and Rolex, it's 5. A dress watch isn't designed to be worn in the same environments as a Speedmaster or a Submariner, but that doesn't imply that it isn't robust. JLC build quality is exceptional and frankly better than Omega and Rolex in my opinion.

I think black dial goes well with the silver indices, hands and case overall

I would go for the black dial.I had a JLC MUT SSH with a silver dial and found it very difficult to read the time at a glance.

The silver dial is one of my all time favourite watches, I get reminded every time I see a thread like this and one day I will own one.

photo does not do the justice for those 3-dimensional beauties, especially for the dials which responds differently to the various lighting conditions.

The black dial for me 😀
Might be the photos be it looks much more deep than the plain silver one
