Which TWO new DJs would you choose? (36mm, jubilee, white gold bezel)

1. Bright black
2. Silver
3. Bright blue, fluted motif
4. Bright blue

If you are going to go silver or black in 36mm, buy vintage. For new, the bright blue wins my vote.

Silver is first choice, opens the watch out and is so versatile

Then the fluted blue dial just because it’s amazing

I will amend as you have a “pick 2”.
New Bright blue on Jubilee.
Then get an 80’s/90’s era DJ with sunburst silver dial and a black dialed 1500 series OPD or 5500 Airking in black for a little 34mm vintage flair. The last two will cost you a the same as the first- 3 watches for the price of two

@JwRosenthal I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks so much!!

(Silver is my first choice)

There are some spectacular blue dials in their vintage lineup as well. They do garner a premium over the more common silver, but they are out there. I’ve seen them more commonly in the 34mm’s though.

Oh, and if I were to pick a favorite DJ dial design, it would be the stepped dial of the 1601/1603 (03 with the engine turned bezel which I love). You can probably pick up an excellent 1601 wirh period jubilee and full service for less than they newer ones will run you- and it would be a unique vintage piece as opposed to what everyone else has right now.

Well after my exercise of vintage watch shopping in 2019, I realized I'm more of a modern watch kinda gal. Even if "everyone" has it, I know none of my friends do 😉

I do see a bunch of 16234s in silver dials but afraid to pull the trigger since I'm not sure of the sources. Hence, me going for new.

I do hear the darker dials are more value than silver/white ones. Do you agree with that statement?

I think the Wimbledon is hard to read although I do like the grey/slate color. But dark green on dark background, not enough contrast. I spoke to a few ADs and they agree it's hard to read at night.

Of course, this is all personal taste, but I love the black dial.

My vote would be 4, blue then 2, silver. But they’re all very nice especially on the jubilee.

From experience just buy the one you personally like. This way when you look at it every day it will make you smile. You will wear it we won't. Individuals tastes, opinions and what influences them are all different.

You're so on the money there, @Omega D . Thank you!
Take my word for it I have a Rolex that I don’t even like, that every one else likes, it lives in the safe. I never wear it. I love my Omega DeVille, these watches are not popular and old fashioned. But I love the DeVille it puts a smile on my face when I look at it. I wear it every day.

These are my daily’s. According to forums and utube they range from not noticed to garbage. However, I love them and wear them.

My cool watch and accepted watch, I never wear it. In a few years will flip it for a profit.

silver (or more preferrably rhodium)
I have a 116234 with rhodium dial for years. Darkness changes a bit depending on the lighting condition. Probably a little darker than silver, I cannot tell the real difference by my eye though.

I bought the silver dial 126234 two years ago just after it was released. I would choose the same again, if I had to do it over again. Very very close second is the black dial.

I also like the silver dialled vintage models but the “new” silver dial is absolutely beautiful.

I'm embarrassed to say I own 3 of these

I will eventually sell 1 but they are so versatile, so comfortable on the wrist, that i wear them all the time

I have not seen the blue fluted. The silver is indeed versatile. But to me the stars are black and bright blue and i believe they are far superior to the vintage colors

The blue is the single best sunburst blue ive ever seen. The black also is sunburst and changes quite a bit in the light (not photographed well here)
