Where to sell Speedmaster Bracelet?

Hi,

Where’s the best place to list a 1861 calibre Speedmaster Bracelet?

I’ve got it on eBay and Chrono24 and the price is fair with loads of “watchers” but no takers.

Is there anywhere else that people can recommend?

Thanks!

Dan

Do you have good photos so people can see what they’re buying? Lots of people struggle to take good, focussed pictures of watches and parts which obviously impacts sales.

Otherwise, if it’s been for sale for a while the price is too high. They’re are always plenty of people looking for Speedmaster bracelets so if it’s not selling, the price isn’t attractive. Bear in mind asking prices aren’t sale prices and a private seller with no reputation or history isn’t going to be able to sell something for the same price as a dealer (or well known collector).

a friend of mine was after one, he put in a cheeky offer on fleabay and the buyer accepted it less than £200

I (think) the pics are pretty good! Shows everything it needs to. But thanks for the tips!

This you?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/168077415815

Because that is a 1620/887 for the Broad Arrow Speedmaster and will not fit 1861 nor 3861 Speedmaster as your description states. It's a return request waiting to happen.

It is and I can say with 100% certainty it does fit the 3861 because I had it on my 3861 and it came off a 1861……

Got pics? And are you using original spring bars? Because the end link is going to be thicker than the correct ones.

You're apparently the first person on the Internet to pair that bracelet with a Moonwatch.

I’m sensing a wafting of sarcasm. But just for you, I’ll swap the bracelet over tomorrow and post on here just for you to prove it.

No sarcasm. I was scouring the Internet for examples of the 1620/887 properly fitted on a standard Moonwatch, but there is no instance of anyone even advertising compatibility and although both are 20mm, the fit shouldn't be 100% without modification (such as thinner spring bars).

I understand there are more Moonwatch owners than regular Speedmaster owners, but my point was you're setting yourself up for a customer complaint when you could just advertise what it actually is. The title/description doesn't even list the 1620/887 search term for if someone was looking for that bracelet.

I bought longer spring bars from Omega that are also slightly thicker (from memory). The only “thing” for want of a better word, was the bracelet lugs were slightly proud of the case rather than flush like the 3861. But aside from that, it was fine.

One interesting thing, I went to the 'make an offer' on this one and see the message:

"The seller will be more likely to respond if your offer is around GBP 486.00" That likely means you have your settings put together to reject most/many offers. Probably why you're not seeing much.
It’s not far off what I’m after! 😂

For giggles, I made an offer at that amount, and it insta-rejected on me. So perhaps it IS far off from what you are after.

So you are inaccurately describing your item and wondering why it is not selling? That bracelet never left an Omega dealer on a 861, 1861 or 3861 model. As already noted it is from the rather different Broad Arrow series which use the 3303/3313 movement. Just because you can make it fit doesn't mean you should advertise the way you are. At best it is misleading, at worst dishonest. Just list it under it's part number or if you must as a Speedmaster bracelet but the way you have it now suggests you are slippery to say the least and not someone I would rush to do business with.

Not sure why, it’s listed at £450 but open to offers with no instant rejection? I’ll have to look into it so thanks!

I’m only listing it as what it was advertised when I bought it on Chrono24.

I had no idea it’s from a Broad Arrow and will absolutely be re-naming and updating it. Im actually glad I posed the question on here now. Despite the attitude from how things have been written in certain replies, yours included. 👍🏼

Came here for advice which I’ll be taking and left with a bitter taste from a couple of keyboard warriors that cant offer constructive help but rather attack.

Cheers anyway.

It sounds like the misunderstanding comes from the mislabeled bracelet, I definitely get why you'd be frustrated with the response if you bought it second hand from chrono24 and didn't realize it wasn't the right p/n for a 1861. Pretty important to include part numbers- but lesson learned.

Please do post those pictures tomorrow, I'm curious to see how it fits. Good luck!

It’s tough love mate and it is constructive. Anyhow you really came here to try a back door sales post so put the violin away.

OP first asked about Speedmaster braclets and the forums FS rules a year ago, I had a vague recollection the screen name was familiar.
