Where is Uncle Seiko fabricated?

Probably true for most people. I was skeptical at first. They're very good. End links are tight. I've had one for my Seiko 6139 and a couple BOR. In fact, they are so good I now question why an OEM is so expensive.
Especially since some OEM bracelets really hit the mark while others seem to fall short, despite all being in big boy price brackets.

Please note that we'd like to keep these sorts of topics about the products and criticism specific to them, without diving in to government and politics issues that always end up divisive (and side-track good threads). Thanks.

Thanks for the reminder. My apologies I knew I should have not made my post.

I’ve owned a modern Omega 1171 and US 1171 and the two are basically identical. Well, except for the price- (at the time) $400+ vs $89. I sold the Omega and kept the US.

Can you believe the Architect never had an Uncle Seiko?
:omegacat:

Hopefully we can change that.

Yep. Chinese manufacturing is absolute top-tier... logistics, supply chain, expertise, automation, talent pool. People think "Made in China" means junk because middlemen push cheap crap for fat margins. Selling products made by the lowest bidder.

The reality? They produce some of the best quality out there. It’s just not what most people are buying, or it’s staying in domestic markets.

We visited China a couple of time to buy products for our company. No doubt they can do quality, but as you suggest, the push was always to the lowest quality (textiles). It was a huge challenge trying to convey quality was more important than price.

I've been happy with all my US bracelets. Very good for the price point.

Very happy with all my US. He puts a lot of research into them and they are high quality.
Detailed info on what references they fit.

The Speedy flat link is surprisingly nice.

I went with a Forstner flat link for my FOIS as the Uncle Seiko was a mm thicker. Forstner bracelets are manufactured in China, with design, inspection, and QC done in Massachusetts. I'm sure Uncle Seiko is similarly manufactured in China. The Uncle Seiko bracelets seem to be of reasonable quality with abundantly varied designs available.

Same for me - have owned 2 uncle seiko bracelets and 1 rubber strap. All are of good quality at a reasonable price, and he provides lots of details on his website about models that fit. Compared to some similar (but cheaper) bracelets which are half the price of his, the difference in quality is very clear. Very happy with mine thus far.

Ya when I asked I didn’t mean to imply anything. I just get curious about things and was wondering myself. Wherever it’s made will not impact my purchase decision. I have at least 5 uncle seiko bands they have all been fine. Plus he seems like a cool dude when he used to post on occasion. I think the best one is the BOR for the seiko alpanist they go geat together.

I work in a big global company, supplying critical components/systems to all automakers. We happen to have textile manufacturing as a major component, we have several factories in China, as well as external suppliers providing textiles (and other components/materials) from China and the rest of the world. As you and many have said, they have the same ability to do high quality as any country does. The key is always what consumers (and buyers/customers) look for and focus on.

As to Uncle Seiko bracelets, I have one and find it to have a nice fit and finish. Very happy with it, and for the price point, it's a much more care-free wear item than my Omega 1171.

Uncle Seiko's website says that it is "owned and shipped" from California, but leaves out fabricated. Are they made in China or somewhere else?
Not sure where they're manufactured. I have a version of the 1171, and another Oyster-style for a Seiko. Quality, fit and finish of both is very good.
