Where is the most beautiful place you have ever visited?

Thanks @STANDY for bumping this old thread, I went through it again, a lot of great images and places to visit once we regain a sense of normalcy. Ironically, the inspiration for this thread for me was my family's trip to the Italian Alps which we were supposed to revisit this summer. Oh well, maybe next year, in the meantime I have great memories to hold me over.

Here are few other memorable trips taken over the years, for me, Italy never disappoints:

Cinque Terre

Yah, I know: Pictures or it didn't happen. We all know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box when it comes to posting scans 🙁
However for me The Sistine Chapel and The Vatican Museum were tops 😀

I haven't been many places unfortunately, but as I've gotten older I have tried to correct that. As for just awe-inspiring natural scenery, southern Utah is tough to beat:

Some great shots and places here! Lots more for us to visit. Seattle is a beautiful American city. Like above, Utah and the Western Americas are amazing, as is British Columbia. Vermont was like driving through calendar photos.

Most beautiful is impossible to say. Some beautiful are these.

Fell in love with Venice (no handy pictures at the moment).

Barcelona cathedral is breathtaking and very different than most others

Alaska has its merits. The only place I have been where I could spin 360 degrees and see the whole Earth. Lots of mountains also further South.

But still partial to the view out my window. Doesn't require any energy and it is constantly changing.

Oregon coast is nice

One of the WORST places is inside this. Pretty though from the outside

The most beautiful will probably be the next place we get to visit.

Without a doubt, the Isle of Arran for me. Some of the most beautiful landscapes you'll ever see. Will have to dig out some photos.

I concur! The western highlands of Scotland are definitely one of the most breathtaking places I have ever visited.

I'm kind of bias for I love anything to do with water and so far for me, it's this somewhat deserted beach in Hawaii where I proposed to my wife 😀

New Zealand's south island ie Queenstown, Milford Sound etc is also up there too!

Have to jump on+agree about Barcelona--one of the most beautiful places on earth, with all the Gaudi architecture, the coast right there, Parc Guell allowing a view of the whole city. I'd expand it, further, to argue for the whole of Spain, but that's obviously just me.

I'd also note northern Minnesota is about as good as it gets. Maybe it's just from having spent times in my youth there, but good lord. Here's a panoramic shot from the rock on the edge of the lake I spent bunches of time in 2019. Getting back there again this summer.

Working in Aviation has allowed me to visit some amazing places that you would not consider taking a family vacation in such as Sudan, Algeria, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan and a bunch of other exotic out of the way locations, being a mechanic meant I got to spend weeks and sometimes months getting to know my host country. The most amazing place I have ever been was in 2001 somewhere over Ukraine at 51000 feet in a LearJet 45 we were delivering to a new owner. I was kneeling between the pilots with the co-pilot in full face oxygen mask looking out the cockpit window at the curvature of the earth and the blue sky fading into a black abyss, It blew my mind and nearly 20 years later nowhere else has come close. We were on the top of the world and it felt like it. These days most private jets can get you up there but in 2001 the Lear 45 was in a class of its own. I have no photos because in 2001 only the Captian had a mobile phone but I can close my eyes and see it as clear as day. It was bloody freezing in the cabin and the cabin windows were icing up on the inside 😀

I’ve traveled extensively over the years to some incredibly beautiful places. Switzerland is hard to beat for scenery, but home is where the heart is and beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I’m going to say some of the local places to me in Cornwall, UK.
Cagdwith Cove, Kynance Cove, Bedruthan Steps. st Michael’s Mount; all are close to me

As a fellow Cornishman in Charlestown I would have to concur. I've seen some beautiful places in the world, such Australia, South Africa and Tuscany but on the right day Cornwall can compete with the best of them.
