Obviously done in an age before Google translate.

Rolex/Tudor "replicator" - "Take this, write it in language to make it understandable, send it to XXXXXXX at the factory."

XXXXX to die maker "here are the words, make a die for the stamp".

The word 'Switzerland' has been used since the 16th century, it's hard to believe a watch case maker in the 20th century Swiss watch industry wouldn't be aware of the word. And what about 'Gelena' and 'Roley'? There has to be a backstory here. Some weird legal reason to get around duties?

No. Probably a devise to avoid trademark or copyright infringement by the importers if caught.

Fakes in the 1960’s and 1970’s had names like Hormilton, Cimega, Onega and Polex.

Watch this episode of “All In The Family” from the early 1970’s.

I think the Chinese got smarter. They now produce under the real brand names and use much higher quality components. Far more dangerous.

We can laugh at some of this silliness now, but it wasn’t funny back then.

Isn’t one shitinerand worth two in the bush , or I could be confusing it with something else . I’m sure there’s one with a bear involved too , something like shitinerwoods .And yes ,it’s been a long day .
