It’s hard to believe that 2019 was the last time we had a limited-edition Speedmaster Professional. Before that year, a new Speedy was practically an annual expectation. And then, poof, life as we knew it changed. Many cheered, and some were saddened. I was formerly in the middle, but now I miss this yearly occasion… […]

Maybe not branded as such, but I'm sure that both the Ed White and Snoopy are pretty limited.

RJ, I can't be the only person who finds warky, Bb, and chow comments tedious, annoying and puerile. We can expect kneejerk bleating about how poor Omega is compared to Rolex on every article with Omega as the main topic.

Just say no. Publish their comments when they are constructive. Otherwise, don't share your pearls before swine (to borrow a biblical phrase.)

As for LE's, I miss the anticipation and excitement of the reveal, but not the disappointment at missing out. I missed out on the Snoopy3, even though waiting in advance for the reveal. It's frustrating seeing them flipped for 23K. So if Omega wanted to avoid this feeling of exclusion, they haven't been successful. In some ways, it's worse. When there were 1975 available watches, there was some closure when that last watch was sold. I had an even chance and missed it. Now, with non-LEs but unavailable Snoopys or Ed Whites (meaning, I can't even get on a list even if I am willing to wait), it's more of a slap in the face. "Oh, we have them, just not for you."

IMHO since the turn of the Millennium Omega had no idea what the spaceflight aficionados really wanted.
A great 2019 Gold tribute Speedmaster but the Apollo 11 Speedmaster was a huge disappointment and many of my friends & colleagues had the cash but went for other spaceflight-related pieces such as the Rolex GMT-master 1675 or vintage Speedmaster 105.003 and 105.012.
Far better choices as real fans are no flippers 😉
Anyway, spaceflight aficionados are looking forward to 2025 with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission. For many people the 1976 commemorative Apollo-Soyuz Speedmaster (Italian market) was the best tribute ever made so a true challenge to the modern Omega team to come up with a 50 years ASTP Speedmaster chronograph.

Whatever they might come up with, at today's prices I'll give it a hard pass and keep focusing on some historical pieces in the Omega collection but about which they only answer about with the text:
Quote:
Indeed, our investigations show that there are no proof of the exhaustivity of this story.
Therefore, we are sure you will understand that, we decided not to communicate around this topic anymore.

End quote.

@Robert-Jan Having the ST1 and ST2 it was good to get in before the horse had bolted. Thanks 👍 (Getting #1861 for the ST1 was a added bonus)

Having a 1861 Speedmaster Moonwatch since new I wear daily I can’t see myself buying another Speedmaster.

Also with the shenanigans, waiting lists and prices nowadays I doubt I would buy another new watch of any luxury brand.

Here’s an idea! How about making the watches that we’ve been waiting in que for? I see you’ve got your Snoopy RJ funny how that just happens to work out.

Dear Raynald

Please let there be a last LE : the ST3…with a twist : first option to order to those collectors who own both the ST1 and ST2, after them second option to those collectors who only own a ST1 or ST2…and can verify ownership on the day orders go live (but not the day after!)…and that should filter out all the scalpers and blood suckers.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Eugene

I’m eagerly anticipating your annual article on the continued absence of an LE. 🙄

My only Omega LE is an ST2. While releasing multiple LE Speedmaster Professionals every year led to LE fatigue, I would like Omega to release additional LEs in the future. Just make them truly special and only release a new LE every few years. A ST3 would be really nice. 😉
