·It's a strange coincidence, but due to the high volume of vintage collectors here, such coincidences do occur.
Over the past 8 years, it's happened twice - where a member puts up a vintage watch for sale, and I have the same model. Usually if it's a less commonly seen model, out of curiousity I sometimes check the serial number of the seller's watch vs mine. And on occasion, the 2 watches are just 1 serial number away!
The first time it happened was when @watchknut sold his Longines 4734 which isn't often seen. As it turns out, my 4734 was just 1 number away.
And this month, it happened again. @Dan S is selling his Rolex 6424, and my 6424 also has the same bracelet, endlinks and even clasp code. And Dan's 6424 was again just 1 serial number away from mine when I asked.
Like I said, not entirely surprising given the forum members' collections here, but still kinda nerdy cool 😜.
I'm sure some of you have had similar experiences - care to share?
