No Grail just making a slow and steady exit from this obsession, biggest decision is what will be the last few standing ?

One for sure is the Sub,

And this one which has been captured by my dearest, obviously on my wrist in this shot 😀

The Globemaster because both my daughters love it although I doubt they would share it,

The 'Hummer' because I suspect one of my girls is starting to really appreciate the piece as much as I do,

The Smiths is for me only, a classic beauty in my eyes,

Last but no means least this and again for me this gold cal. 610 from 1963,

And after all that this really should have been a separate thread 🤦

Nice! Do you have a pic of the movement?
@ahantel I love the 2597 too.

Here’s one for sale, I’m not bidding 😀 http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/patek-philippe-a-fine-and-rare-18k-6120044-details.aspx

The movement is the 12-400 HS:

Better picture but slightly different version of the same 12-400 base (source):

Closest to a “grail” for me would be a birthyear 1977 Daytona 6263 Big Red. Not impossible to find, but since I own watches to wear them regularly, the price of these makes them unlikely for me to own in the near future.

Instead, I went with a more reasonably priced Speedmaster with very similar aesthetics. To make it a worry-free wearable I went the modified route and I have found it an exceptional solution (for me).

Grail watch? Such a good question. I am looking for a sporty but classic weekend watch, and plan to take the next year to figure it out 👎 Tudor Sub? A GMT? Hooded-lug bubbleback?

This one is for a totally different mood, but I think of a nice salmon dial often. Evocative of 1940’s haberdashery, and (if you forget about the wars and other unpleasantries) simpler, more congenial times. Gold, white gold or SS.

Ha - this thread popped up today - from nearly 2 years ago!! I’ve gotten to know some people om this thread, and it’s so interesting to see how some things have changed...and how some things have not changed at all (including for me) 😉

Since no one else asked, why are two men cowering on the floor in front of that watch?

Bowing down, chanting 'We're not worthy'??? 😀

Wow you guys put up some beautiful watches. Those IWC are incredible. For me it’s really just a modern seamaster planet ocean. I would be quite happy with that. A couple months ago it was a speedy but now that I acquired that of course I add something else. I sometimes think if I acquire this I shall be happy and seek no other but that thought passes very quickly

Assuming it still exists, Buzz Aldrin’s missing Speedmaster. I can’t think of a rarer or more valuable watch ever made.

Let’s imagine we’re all sat around a table playing poker with our watches instead of cards. That Speedmaster would be the equivalent of an all-spades royal flush and then some. In fact it would probably beat it.

I first came to OF with a question related to a Seamaster DeVille, but what really got my heart beating for Omega were the 321 Seamasters with the 321 calibers.

These are not made by unobtanium but haven’t been able to snag a good one yet. Hoping to get one with alpha hands and maybe even coffin markers.

These are some of @MSNWatch ‘s that I have lusted over.

Got to try on this one, normally Patek leave me cold, but this was stunning. One to add to the list if I win the lottery.

Right now, my grail watch is this:

I went to 14 Omega ADs in the Midwestern US when they were announced and they all told me to move on or go test my luck on the grey market.
