Was that due to the peppers or that beautiful JLC Memovox? It looks to be in perfect condition; do you actually wear it?
I can remember seeing this circa 2005, but my then finance director put any ideas of getting one permanently on ice. At the time I was more interested in the 171 81 70 (Geographic), but the idea of a mechanical wrist alarm is also very retro cool.

The watch head looks quite thick, likewise the lugs. How does it wear? Any chance of some wrist shots?
Cheers
Nick

That photo was taken a few years ago - I do wear it and it doesn't look quite so pristine now. This is a more recent shot:

Another one from a few years ago:

Movement shot...not that you can see it with the case back on:

One of the reasons it's a bit thick is because, unlike the vintage versions and many other alarm watches that just have the alarm hammer strike a post on the case back and simply make a buzzing sound, this one has a proper gong inside the case back:

So the alarm is more like an old school bell than just an annoying buzz - video for you:

Not sure what these go for these days, but I bought mine new with a reasonable discount as I recall.

Anyway, sorry to hijack the food thread with so much watch talk!

Cheers, Al

We started with a crab asparagus soup, then finished with the tri tip with a chimichurri and a cauliflower rice baby bella mushroom sauté.

I think I prefer a liquid lunch, but, where to start:

20 yo Imperial
18 yo Laphroaig
32 yo Bunnahabhain
36 yo Benriach
.........

I like your taste, particularly the Caol Ila. Have you tried the Distillers Edition?

A boiled Irish ham joint, then using the same water to cook, Savoy cabbage.
Only needs two more flavours good mustard and salted Irish butter

Okay, family holiday dinner version. Scheduling around this time of year is tough as all the kids get married and we have to work around a large number of other people's schedules. So since we host our dinner after everyone has had a few already, we thought something other than more turkey would be good. So a couple of days before we made some maple baked beans with ham hock (always more flavor a few days after being made)...

The day of we made skillet jalapeño corn bread...with some cheese also...

For the protein, some baby back ribs, and my sister brought the slaw...

Made for a nice change and everyone was happy! Making me hungry posting these, so off for lunch!

That's my kind of meal Al. Love that kind of cornbread. I add real corn kennels and a touch of cinnamon too (sweet with the heat).

Had the new Aussie classic. The Halal Snack Pack.
Chips, shaved kebab meat, sauces - I left the cheese off, so it could also be a kosher snack pack.

I don't have this often, and although it's simple, it's amazingly good...

Some good vanilla ice cream, and dark amber maple syrup...👍
