Gold scrap plus400?
I'd say at least that much or a little more. If somebody were to scrap it, the movement, dial, hands, crown, and bracelet would probably get you more than $400 on ebay. The value of just a clean/working 565 is closer to $200 now a days and if you listed a clean dial for $100-150 you'd sooner than later find somebody coming around to pay it. Bracelet with endlinks is another $150.

That being said, I don't think a solid gold deville is worth scrapping. In good condition, these seem to do well on ebay and at auctions.

Certainly a valuable watch. DeVilles are sought after by new collectors so they are typically more expensive than other dress Omegas that are otherwise similar. I would estimate that one of these would sell for around $1200-1600 here, if you put together a decent advert in the correct sales place.

Put it up for auction. You’ll find out it’s worth exactly what someone will pay for it. No more, no less.

He only has 1 post Troels, he can't post an advert here.

Would the 14K stamp on the casebook indicate a US made case I wonder?

I think Troels was alluding to the fact that the correct place to post a for sale add would be eBay, or Craigslist, or similar.

Wow, love it! In that condition, around $1'000.- and it's sold within a few days... If you put the effort in to take good pictures and create a good advert like @ConElPueblo said, you would probably get $1'200 - $1400.

Quite so, my mistake, I read it that the right place was here.

Maybe he’s not wanting to sell it but simply curious because it’s a fancy looking gold watch?
I’d be curious too if I were given something potentially valuable I know nothing about.

James Bond wore a SMDV in From Russia with Love. So from now on you're really cool.

yes. that's obviously indirectly selling in OF. so if that watch is for sale here, it's only $49. if not, maybe $100.😁
