that was not my point.
so you're worried someone will think your speedy pro is a 260$ swatch?

What’s the delusion?
What isn't delusional about this? Perhaps you'd prefer rank opportunism? Whatever. Expecting $2000 for a $320 watch = delusion.

A bit weird he’s on Craigslist, and his asking price is a bit high, but these are presently trading around $1,200

If I lived in whatever “Craigslist” town this is, and wanted the watch immediately without dealing with online platform fees, shipping, etc. - and could negotiate down from the asking price a bit…

The seller doesn’t seem all that delusional

I can't believe how much these are going for at eBay. At this price, why don't you just get the real thing? ::facepalm1::
As with the $30k Tiffany Blue dialed Rolex Oyster Perpetual, what they ask and what they get are frequently two different things.

The guy with the cash in his pocket isn’t likely to splash out that kind of dosh on a watch valued by the manufacturer at $6150.

Likewise, $5k for a $260 Swatch with no track record is unlikely to be a hot commodity.

You're right, @cvalue13. Compared this most recent local Craigslister, he seems downright sane. I love this one.

Omega selling a 321 Speedmaster in Canopus gold for $81,000 vs the almost the same 321 Ed White in steel for $14,100 is rank opportunism writ large, but there are buyers. No one is forced to pay the asking price for any product. Let the market decide.

Let the market decide.

yeah, I’m not following the discussion

call the buyers crazy I suppose, but a seller asking $2k for a cash sale seems to be right on market at the moment 👎

That looks fun! You should post it in the sales section for $25K just to mess with brand loyalists.

You mean like Omega requiring US residents to physically visit an OB instead of ordering an Archive Extract online from their couch? No riots or boycotts because of that.
How many people are required to visit an Omega Boutique each day to obtain an Archive Extract compared to the crowds we’ve seen around the world today?

Say for example there were ten people each day who were forced to request their Archive Extracts in person each day (while ten per week sounds more likely), how exactly would that anger the American market?

It sounds like you’re confusing a proof of ownership requirement from Omega with a marketing strategy from Swatch Group.

Well this was fun!

If this craziness continues, and the SOME crowd gets into it, then they just have to get all 11 and the box. Ka-ching for Swatch!
And if the dont get all 11, you speedy guys can paint your now worthless watches yellow and sell them with a profit. Ka-ching for you!
Then you can buy yourselves a real Omega ie. a Seamaster, that people wont confuse with a moonswach.

The day grey market is going down already , at lunch time the watches where around 1000 chf, at 4 Pm 600 chf, at 6 Pm 400 chf, at 7pm I posted and ad saying want to buy the pink one and ready to pay 200 chf ( 50 below the price tag) and I get it , people just realized they made the bad choice today speculating on something that as no value .

incredible situation .
Pink is Venus, and I guess not all 11 are equally wanted.

I’m not clear on what you’re saying. Are you suggesting the MoonSwatch has destroyed the value of the Omega Speedmaster Moon watch?

Have you seen anything to validate or justify such a suggestion?

As far as I can tell, the values of my Speedy Moons, Connies and Seamasters are much the same today as they were yesterday . . .

How’s the weight of it? Does it have some mass to it, or is it very lightweight?
Very lightweight

If anyone is wanting to sell a Speedmaster cheap to me as they have been "devalued" cause of this. I'll gladly take it off their hands. Tritium dials and LE preferably 😝

Very lightweight
This is good and worries me at the same time. I'm definitely gonna pick up one before committing to collecting the set.

It doesn’t bother me at all. The watches are very well done. Case is very nice with thick lugs and sharp curves. Dials are beautiful. These are great great value, and will prove to be future classics.

two notes:

1) don’t know about serviceability
2) the standard straps are crap

second this people need to stop complaining that its plastic 😁 its a speedmaster with omega (for real) on the dial for 250$ no 2500... people acting like its gonna cost them their luxury watch collection or compete with it. that's not what its meant to be and I bet these people would be stoked about this if they couldn't afford to get a real one
