For what it’s worth, my son in law went to the Omega store at the Houston Galleria…..they had 75 of each model and were all sold YESTERDAY…..
Pardon if this has already been reported.

750 in one swatch shop seems high - the story seems to be that the London stores had around 300 each.

When I first saw the watches that were going to be released I thought that I might pick one up as I thought it would be a nice novelty for the price.....but after learning how these products were going to be available, I'm sure that we all thought about what a debacle the roll out was going to be.......it has been a bad PR stunt and a joke, Swatch group management should be embarrassed on how this was done..... Also, IMHO, they also tarnished a great Maison (Omega).

Way to go guys ::facepalm1::.

They’ve just won Watches and Wonders without taking part in Watches and Wonders.

I’d call that a huge PR win…

100% on the nose. The outcome here is beyond Swatch’s wildest dream.

I had to check out the hashtag #MoonSwatch just to see the strap combos people are doing and I noticed the the majority of the people using that tag never posted about watches ever in the history of their accounts....... this was a hugely successful campaign by Swatch/Omega. Good for them!

"Just got through to an agent on Swatch’s 1-800 number here in the states. She said these will NOT be sold online here in the USA. This is due to a specific request from Omega that they do not want these sold through the online swatch USA website. She said it’s already set in stone that is a firm NO. Just relaying what I was told.

The posts you see saying it’ll be sold online at a “later date” is for European markets. Makes sense since all those swatch accounts on Instagram posting it are the foreign entities and not the USA account."

So looks like this won't really be available if this is true.

Thank you. Very interesting, if true.

45 minute drive each way to nearest swatch store for me, not impossible but not ideal. Would not do it again unless I knew for sure I would be able to buy what I want.

Prices on eBay are out of control . This is insanity! It’s not even a limited release!

I know the transaction will never be finalised, but there is one bidding at £63,600 on eBay at the moment, along with a large number over 1k. I wonder how many will end up actually paid for, and how long the increased stock takes to arrive.

Correct, now is the time for the rest of us to demonstrate that we are sane. 👍

even the ones with multiple bids that are at 600ish bucks are insane enough for me to laugh

I suspect the dial is larger then the opening of the crystal, which means if it can be opened, it would have to be from the back. No one who has one seems to want to post photos that show what I've asked for...yet anyway.

I have been told they can't be opened nor repaired.

Swatch quartz watch cases are one piece and the the crystal is ultrasonically welded to the case. For all intents and purposes they are non-repairable and can't be altered, except for the strap. They are a product that will eventually stop working, and then it will be tossed in a drawer or in the trash. That was the bargain the buyer made when they were introduced 40 years ago, they would get a genuine Swiss made watch for $40, unheard of at the time.

It appears Swatch massively underestimated the demand and will be caught short of product. Swatches are made in a batch process, and then they move on to the next line to be introduced. They COULD crank up the line again and make more, but they probably won't, this is why Swatch is now 'clarifying' the expected online availability. Maybe they are working on a Swatch Breguet mashup.

This is clearly a way to create a feel of exclusivity even with the moderate price and the promise they will sell as many as people will buy. The simple optics of people lining up everywhere is clearly a huge PR win too.

We can assume that, or gather evidence. I prefer the latter...

Not meant to be opened, and can’t be opened, are two different things.

The side effect for this is people will start to notice everyone’s real Speedmaster and think they are swatch. The average Joe can’t tell a Rolex or Omega from a Casio…

I thought I had payed too much for my sapphire sandwich, but soon it will be cheaper than the moonSwatch.
