What a bizarre watch.

On a side note Mission to Uranus is one of my favorite films. Still not buying the watch.

I don’t know how people consider this a good look for Omega and Speedmaster.

It’s killing it for me, as I have a decent collection I hope it passes……..because I feel like I’m over it. Started to cringe looking at my own Speedmasters.
This will all pass, as all fads do. This is a Swatch product, not an Omega product. The Speedmaster image will be fine.

I bought a Speedmaster pro 10 years ago. I wanted a nice watch that very few were familiar with, as the last thing I wanted is strangers pointing out what I was wearing (ie Rolex). Then it seems Speedmaster became more popular and on several occasions I have had people point out my Speedmasters.

Now if someone points it out, I'm just going to blurt out moonSwatch. I'd much rather have people I don't know think I'm wearing a moonSwatch than a speedy.

I hear the printing on the dial is not as good as some of the photos in Marketing. (From a non forum friend in Melbourne who got to see a few)

If you have a close look at the Fratello video you will see what I mean.

Yeah, that's what I figured from the videos as well, but since I didn't like the idea of the collab either, I figured I could be biased. Really interested to get the opinion of someone that wanted the piece and how they're finding it compared to their expectations.

Add to cart is greyed out. Guessing they’re out of stock there. Amazing to come up with an item you can mass produce that lots of people want and be too incompetent to realize that lots of people will want it

Very neat, this new line up is a good surprise to me, as I had meant to acquire a cheap quartz watch as a stop gap

Can't wait to buy one online.

Please post photos if you have them thanks.

If no way in from the back, then essentially it’s a throw away if anything happens to the movement no? Don’t suppose you can service or replace the movement from the frontside?

Standard springbars!

How’s the weight of it? Does it have some mass to it, or is it very lightweight?

only attempting to match the assertion of revenues staying flat over “the last ten years” to the data - 2012-2021 wasn’t flat (nor was 2011-2020)?

Revenue 2012 - 7.8B (2B op income)
Revenue 2021 - 7.3B (1B op income)

In regards to the other manufacturers, I gave you the example of Richemont group (A. Lange, Cartier, IWC, JLC, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin etc)

2012 - 8.9B (2B op income)
2021 - 13.14B (2.9B op income)

Interesting enough, Richemont's gross margin is about half of Swatch's, which suggests they're doing some intense manufacturing, while Swatch is selling some really high margin stuff.

In any case, I feel like this conversation has run its course. I appreciate your opinion and hearing "the other side's arguments" has been educational. My opinion hasn't changed, I accept that I might be wrong.

Now, leaving the bussines side aside, I can't wait to see how this plays out in terms of the emotional outcome that it will have with the first buyers.

Oh, poo… and here I was, hoping for more charts and graphs, and maybe - if we’re all good - raw JSON data objects.

If anyone says this is devaluing Omega, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a line at the OB. I spoke to mall security working the store and she already told the line that they can’t purchase the MoonSwatch at Omega. Everyone there is now looking at Omegas.

Vegas Boutique is thousands in line
So glad I decided not to stay an extra night in Vegas now! I still might buy one for the kids once they become available online.

I'm wondering how different the original OB $190 velcro Omega strap is from the MoonSwatch one? They're both 20mm so who's going to post the first pic of a their Moonwatch with a MoonSwatch strap?

I'd be interested in seeing the organic vs. inorganic growth splits of the revenue figures if available.

Don’t worry.
These MoonSwatch are great fun, throw away, consumables only, in the years to come the movements and cases will be buggered. Anyone thinking these are a quality item are fooling themselves only. I like them for what they are.
This photo will make you feel better.
This is me opening my Speedmaster and my Swatch collection to do a service 😁
If that doesn’t put it into perspective, nothing will 👍

With a 200-priced budget ?
So looking for an Omega strap perhaps... if that's enough ?

Yeah funny it was most apparent with my Apollo 8 DS ordered it only having seen pictures, from pictures it was cool but in hand it was so much better, far exceeding my expectations 😀

I’m guessing these will be the opposite, kinda cool in pictures but very average in hand!

I wanted one as I thought it was a fun idea but frankly, after reading about all this hysteria, I'm starting to completely lose interest in this release.

I don't see myself going through any of this BS for what, in the end, is just a plastic Swatch watch...
