My mother in law wanted to surprise me and queued up at the Louvre for it at 7am. Apparently only 10 watches were given out before security shut it dow as a group of 10 burly scalpers came and tried to push in to the front, so fighting started.

I was touched to hear what she tried to do, but I have to admit her experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth

Remember, Swatch saved Omega; looks like the favour has been returned. Payback

A playful take... MoonSwatch
On the Red Mars version RJ named the red subdial hands "Mercury" capsule hands.
While the original Alaska Project subdial hands were always referred to as "Gemini" capsule hands...
My first thought (and hope) was that naming these "Mercury" should distinguish these clearly from the "Gemini" capsule hands on the actual Alaska Project Speedmaster chronographs. However the MoonSwatch "Mercury" capsule subdial hands are not sleeker and look exactly the same as their late 1960s counterparts...

Prick😁
For the non Aussies, the term Prick, Dickhead or Wanker is actually a term of endearment in Australia😀

70 watches total and they just told everybody to go home, that you had to have gotten a ticket yesterday. Bad, bad job by swatch, screwing over your biggest fans. (I’m sure whatever resellers got tickets yesterday are happy though, they can build some hype for swatch with crazy prices on eBay)

They are already on Ebay for 1000 CHF. A few listing from Switzerland with real images and purchase time of 9.15 am local.

What's happening ?
At Omega/SWATCH they must be laughing their heads off ... 😁
.
Edit: newspaper headline
Do they know what time it is? Incredible scenes as THOUSANDS wake up at the crack of dawn to queue at shopping centres across Australia to snap up a new 'moon' WATCH - so why is it in such huge demand?

Thanks for sharing this location! I’m in Minneapolis and was trying to guilt my brother to wait in line for me at KoP 😀

Looks way more plasticky in real life than press pics. Like a Happy Meal version of the steel version. I think it's good they made it this way.
