What was the Omega model?

I used to have a stainless Omega watch with applied gold lugs. It was a simple round white dial that, as I recall, only said Omega. Probably from the 40s or 50s and seemed oversize for the period--maybe 38mm. So the question is what was the model and why can't I find one. Was it something particularly rare?? Where can I look for one?
