Speedmaster 105003 - What was the original finish of the lugs??

    Hi all!

As we know, Speedmaster symmetrical cases have lugs featuring three surfaces: lateral side, small bevel and top face. My question is: what was the original finish of these three surfaces? I am pretty sure that the lateral side was brushed and the top face was, instead, polished; but what about the small bevel?

    Many thanks!

Checking these pictures carefully I am of the opinion that those bevels are brushed and not polished - see attached screenshots.

I have also checked the "Cases" chapter in MWO but it does not help. Text is not so clear regarding those small bevels..

    Any other opinions?

See the little lines in the attached pictures from your link above, I think they point in the "brushed" direction..

Also, in approx. a month time I'll have direct access to an Ed White which I believe to be fully unpolished and coming from the original owner. I'll post detailed pictures of those bevels :)

Where is that last pic from? That has seen some serious wear.

Be aware that Ed Whites have at least 2 different lug profiles so this could differ from model to model. Mine is a -65. This is polished on top then brushed on the bevel and side, same as Eugene's:

Thanks for the contribution. It confirms the "brushed bevels" theory.
