This watch belongs to a friend of mine who is seeking more information about it. It belonged to his dad. The serial number on its 8LN movement suggests it was produced in 1946. The case and band are 14k yellow gold. Is anyone familiar with this equestrian themed Longines? Was it a production model, or the creation of a jeweler? Thanks for any info or insights. My apologies for the quality of the photos.

The answer, as always, is to write Longines to ask them. Equestrian themes are quintessential to the Longines tradition.

@Radiumpassion I had been listing some homewares for sale on a local classifieds site and decided to search for Longines and this popped up in the Midlands. Seller had unclear pictures but I could see a sector dial and got excited. Watch wasn't running and dial has some spots. it's also a bit smaller than I usually wear (32mm vs my cutoff of 33mm). I took a gamble and the watch arrived better looking than expected. After a service it's running great now.

Archive info:

The original serial number xxx identifies a wristwatch in stainless steel bearing the reference 3787. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 10.68Z (also called 10L in North America) and was invoiced on 13 July 1939 to the company Longines-Wittnauer Co., which was at that time our agent for Canada.

It came on a very worn military looking strap so speculating that maybe a Canadian soldier had owned it and brought it over during WW2.
