This is a fairly uncommon USAAC A-11 1941 type. No bezel, that's the more well known A-11 1940 type. If 1200 1940 type is rarish, the 1941 type is even more rare.

Why take it off? Another day with this 100% Correct rarity. The patina is hard to capture with an iphone that insists it knows the correct white balance 🤨. A correct Longines A-11 does not have Longines on the dial. I also must be fully marked caseback to be genuine A-11. One hint, genuine 1941 A-11 is a screwback!

All Guard, predecessor of the Conquest. Bracelet is not from Longines and, even though vintage, from a later decade.

Looks amazing with those straps, what brand are they?
Ali Express but I like the tapered straps - and, of course, I check that it says leather. These are 19mm.

I can’t recall how much I pay but it’s somewhere between £8.00 and £12.00

They look much more expensive than that, wow. So far just about any budget priced straps I’ve bought were too thick around the spring bars and rubbed on the case.

At the prices I’ve paid, you can have some fun. I like the Epsom style straps - as you can see

I recently purchased some Epsom leather from Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Utah, to make some watch straps for myself. It's expensive leather, two sq ft cost me about $US 70 with shipping to Canada by USPS. Unfortunately while I ordered a thickness of 0.8 mm and they have a tolerance of plus or minus 0.15 mm, what I received ranged from 0.4 to 0.6 mm in thickness.

Well that really sucked because I can barely get away with 0.6 mm, the 0.4mm and 0.5 mm is just too thin though. Anyways, I asked them for a 50% discount on the price of the leather and they agreed, I should have asked for the same discount on the shipping too.

Here are the straps I just made for my 1970 Omega Geneve. They turned out okay, except I made the stitch line a little too far from the edge of the straps. At least I have enough leather too improve on the next ones.

Thank you! It took many months of swearing and mistakes, not so sure it was the best decision to be honest, lol.

Why not? Looks amazing and hope that you, after months of swearing, at least have fun with the products now. This is truly unique. Congratulations
